Ahead of Match 6 in the 2024/25 Women's Super Smash, all six teams have now played at least one game with only one fixture falling victim to the weather!
Otago Sparks are the only side to have played three games so far in this campaign and have picked up eight points with their two wins and a defeat. Canterbury Magicians and Wellington Blaze are the only other teams to have picked up victories so far and all teams will be looking to catch up with Otago in of games played as well as points on the board over the next few days.
This fixture brings together the best female players in this format from across Auckland and Canterbury and we can be assured of a high quality clash at the Eden Park Outer Oval on Friday.

It was another game to forget for Auckland Hearts in match three as they travelled to Molyneux Park, Alexandra and were defeated by Otago Sparks by seven wickets with 29 balls remaining.
Overall, it was a disappointing performance with both bat and ball from the Hearts who posted only 110/8 from their 20 overs and skipper Maddy Green will be looking for better returns from herself, Brooke Halliday and Isabella Gaze in this fixture.
With the ball, the Hearts were only capable of picking up two wickets with Fran Jonas (2/21) the standout performer. Captain Green also impressed with 1/10 from her two overs and must surely give herself more overs in this match. Halliday is another strong player with bat or ball at this level and will be key in this game.

After bouncing back from a poor start with the bat in their victory over Otago Sparks in match two, Canterbury Magicians will believe they can win any game from any position in this year's Women's Super Smash.
Laura Hughes' side found themselves in deep trouble on 30/5 at the start of the eighth over but a combination of Natalie Cox (23 runs from 21 balls) and a brilliant 63 runs from 48 balls from Shikha Pandey took the Magicians to 137/7 which was defendable.
The bowlers certainly relished having those runs to play with and Melissa Banks alongside Shikha Pandey will fancy their chances of knocking over some early wickets with the new balls in this fixture. Gabby Sullivan comes into this game as the only member of the bowling attack who went wicketless in that last match.

There could be some interruptions across the scheduled first innings of this game as rain and thunderstorms are forecast. Although humidity will still be high after this period, dry weather is expected and a completed match should be possible.
The Eden Park Outer Oval is an excellent venue and the bowlers should get good rewards if they put the ball in the right areas. With the high humidity, batting could be tough and a winning first innings score could be as low as 115.
With the Magicians winning after batting first, and Auckland Hearts still searching for that winning formula in this campaign, we predict that both sides will choose to bat first in this game.
Based on their opening games in the tournament, Auckland Hearts do not look as strong as Canterbury Magicians and are over-reliant on one or two international players. We expect the Magicians to make it two victories from two games.
We are backing Canterbury Magicians to win!
