Bangladesh Preview

Shakib al Hasan will look to put behind their poor record against Bangladesh and start the tournament with a win. As the most experienced player on the side, he will look to lead from the front. Their opponents have a few issues with injuries, and the Bangladeshi skipper would look to take full advantage of that in this game. 

The side will look for a strong batting performance from Mohammad Naim and Litton Das as they aim for a big partnership. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy are in good form, and they will look to steer the innings in the middle order. Mushfiqur Rahim Afif Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz add strength to this batting line-up, and they will look to do well in this game.   

Hasan Mahmud and Mustafizur Rahman must use the new ball well, as the Sri Lankan batters will come hard at them in this game. Shakib and Mehidy Hasan Miraz are the most experienced bowlers and must tie the Lankans down with their skills. Dasun Shanaka's side is battling injuries heading into this game. At least four players are missing this tournament due to injuries that hurt the team's balance. However, Shanaka and his men have a home advantage and a good record against Bangladesh. The Lankan skipper would like his players to take inspiration from past wins and do well in this game.  

The side will need a solid start from Pathum Nissanka and Dimuth Karunaratne at the top, as both players have done well in recent games. Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama, and Charith Asalanka will look to build partnerships in the middle order. Shanaka and Dhananjaya de Silva must add quick runs in the lower middle order as Bangladeshi bowlers will test them.   

Kasun Rajitha and Dunith Wellalage must bowl tight lines with the new ball, as the Bangladeshi openers are in good form. Wanindu Hasaranga's absence is a big blow to the side, and they will need good spells from Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana in the middle overs.
