Dindigul Dragons Preview

Ravichandran Ashwin’s side did well last season, winning six out of seven games in the league stage. However, they had a poor run in the playoffs. Ashwin, who has a lot of experience, shall look to put last season’s upset behind them and put up a good show in this game. They have a strong bowling attack and shall look to capitalize on it.  

Shivam Singh and Vimal Kumar will look to deliver a good start at the top and take on the bowling attack. Baba Indrajith is one of the best batsmen in this tournament and shall aim to build partnerships with Ashwin and Boopathi Kumar. Adithya Ganesh, C Sarath Kumar, and Suboth Bhati add firepower to their batting.  

They have a strong bowling attack and shall expect good spells with the new ball from P Saravana Kumar and Sandeep Warrier. Ashwin and Varun Chakravarthy add X-factor to the attack and have important roles in this game. Suboth Bhati and P Vignesh will look to deliver the goods in the ing role.

The Trichy Grand Cholas hope the change in the team’s name will also help them change their fortunes. It was a disastrous season for Ganga Sridhar Raju’s side in 2023, where they lost all games and finished at the bottom of the points table. They are up against a quality side and must put up a good show.  

Ganga Sridhar Raju must lead from the front and deliver a good start in the game with Jafar Jamal. Mani Bharathi, Arjun Murthy, and S Shyam Sundar will look to build partnerships in the middle order. Antony Dhas, K Easwaran, and Sanjay Yadav add depth in the lower middle order and must do well in this contest.  

The bowling attack struggled last season, and the side will expect Kannan Vignesh and Antony Dhas to strike early for the side. SCF Cricket Ground has been a good venue for batsmen as the shorter boundaries and a fast outfield have allowed them to score runs easily at this venue. The wicket can be tough for fast bowlers as there isn’t much for them. Spinners have done well as the rough surface lets them turn the ball sharply.
