England Preview

Zak Crawley’s side put up an excellent batting show in the last game to win by 48 runs. Batting first the hosts put up 334 runs on the board. They are on the brink of another series win against Ireland and Crawley would like his players to continue with the same form and grab the series.   

Will Jacks was unlucky to have missed his hundred in the last game and will look to deliver a strong start with Phillip Salt. Crawley will look to anchor the innings in the middle order and add runs with Ben Duckett and Sam Hain. The side bats deep, and they expect runs down the order from Jamie Smith, Brydon Carse, and Rehan Ahmed.  

The bowlers didn’t dominate as the batsmen did and the team will expect good spells with the new ball from Matthew Potts and George Scrimshaw. Brydon Carse did well in the middle overs and must bow similar lines with Rehan Ahmed. Tom Hartley and Will Jacks complete a strong attack for the side.

Paul Stirling’s side must make a strong comeback and level the series. Their bowlers were taken to the cleaners in the last game. Stirling will be happy with the batting efforts of his lower middle order, but the Irish skipper would like to see better efforts from his bowlers and the top order in this game.  

Andrew Balbirnie and Paul Stirling are the most experienced batsmen on the side, and they must deliver a good start in this game. Curtis Campher, Harry Tector, and Lorcan Tucker got starts in the last game and they must convert them into big scores in this game. George Dockrell, Barry McCarthy, and Craig Young add depth to this batting line-up.  

The bowling attack must be on its toes and the side will need a good show from Mark Adair and Joshua Little with the new ball as the English batters will come hard at them. Craig Young and McCarthy must bowl good spells in the middle overs. The side will also expect good performance in the ing role from Andy McBrine and Dockrell.
