Both teams are in desperate need of a win to stay in the race to the semi-finals. Gulbarga Mystics have one win less than the 4th-placed Mangalore Dragons and a win here would help them stay in the competition.
Dragons are coming in this match on the back of a convincing win in their last game against Bengaluru Blasters. Their opening batsman Krishnamurthy Siddarth scored an unbeaten hundred in the last game to take the team to a 194-run total.
Siddarth was promoted to open the innings after he scored 47 off 37 balls at number 6 in their previous match. Gulbarga Mystics, on the other hand, finally managed to put a decent total on the board after failing in back-to-back matches.

Gulbarga Mystics will be eager to put an end to their losing streak. They finally managed to improve their batting performance but it was still not enough.
However, they should take a few positives from that game and look to build on an even bigger total against a quality side like Mangalore Dragons. Openers LR Chethan and Adarsh Prajwal will have a big task at hand.
Prajwal scored 43 off 41 in the last game while Chethan scored 44 off 35 prior to that. The two need to up the ante and start attacking and converting their starts into a bigger score.
It was Smaran R and Adarsh Prajwal who led the comeback from Mystics in the last match with a 77-run partnership for the 3rd wicket. That is a big positive for Gulbarga Mystics coming into this match.
While Macneil Noronha and Amit Verma couldn't’ get going in the middle order, wicket-keeper bat Srinivas Sharath played an attacking knock helping the Mystics finish on a high.

Their wins haven’t been consistent and that is what they will look to change going ahead. After a brilliant win chasing 202 runs against Mysore, the Dragons finished with just 152 for 8 in the very next game chasing 216 against Hubli Tigers.
The bowlers conceded 200+ runs in two consecutive matches while bowling first and that will be a major concern coming into this match.
The Dragons won the toss each time in their last three outings. However, after they lost while chasing 216, the skipper decided to opt to bat first against Bengaluru Blasters in the last game.
BU Shivakumar and Anirudh Joshi have shown great promise at number 4 and 5 and will be their key players. Though Rohan Patil was out cheaply, he scored a brilliant fifty against Mysore.
