Galle Marvels Preview

Niroshan Dickwella has led a solid campaign this season. They topped the points table in the league stage and put up an excellent effort in the 1st Qualifier against the Jaffna Kings, winning by 7 wickets. As they take on the same team in the final, Dickwella would like his players to do well and bag their first title.  

Alex Hales has done well at the top and would like to give his best opening the batting with skipper Niroshan Dickwella. Tim Seifert and Janith Liyanage put up a match-winning stand in the last game, and they will add runs in the middle order with Bhanuka Rajapaksa. Sahan Arachchige, Isuru Udana, and Dwaine Pretorius add firepower to this batting lineup, making it strong.  

The bowling attack has done well this season, and the team expects Dwaine Pretorius and Isuru Udana to get early wickets and put the opponents under pressure. Maheesh Theekshana and Prabath Jayasuriya must keep the scoring rate under check, as Jaffna Kings have good hitters. Sahan Arachchige and Kavindu Nadeeshan must do well in the ing roles.

Charith Asalanka's side won a thrilling contest against the defending champions Kandy Falcons. The Kings held their nerves in a game that went down the wire, winning by 1 run. With this win, the team has made it to the final for a record third time. They have won the title thrice and will look to add one more to their trophy cabinet.  

Kusal Mendis hit a match-winning hundred in the last game, and the side will expect a good show from him and Pathum Nissanka at the top. Avishka Fernando is the leading scorer this season, and he will look to add runs in the middle order with Rilee Rossouw and Charith Asalanka. Azmatullah Omarzai and Dhananjaya de Silva complete a strong batting lineup for the team.  

The bowlers went for a few runs in the last game, and the side needs a strong show with the new ball from Jason Behrendorff and Asitha Fernando. Fabian Allen and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth bowled match-winning spells in the last game and will look to do the same.
