Jammu & Kashmir lost their first 4 games in a row in SMAT 2023-24 but finished the season with 3 consecutive wins. As they face Jharkhand in their opening game of the 2024-25 season, the Paras Dogra-led J&K will be looking to gain early points with a win over a strong Jharkhand.

Ishan Kishan will be playing for the Jharkhand team while there is no Saurabh Tiwary this year. He will be looking to make the most of this tournament and get as many runs as he can before going into the IPL auction.

Jammu and Kashmir will take on Jharkhand at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC in Mumbai in their opening match of the season. Murugun Ashwin will be a key player in this match given the spin-friendly nature of the pitch at this venue.

Vivrant Sharma, Paras Dogra, and Shubham Khajuria are some of the key players in the top order who need to deliver impactful performances to get J&K off to a flying start.

They had lost their first 4 games in the last season and will be looking to avoid the same this time around. They need stronger batting performances. Qamran Iqbal and Shubham Khajuria will be opening for the side.

The two are pretty solid batters who delivered big partnerships last year. Khajuria was pretty consistent as an opener and will be crucial in this game. We will see some new faces in the middle order this year.

Paras Dogra, who will be leading the team can be a candidate for the number 3 of 4 position. Shivansh Sharma will be replacing wicket-keeper batter Fazil Rashid. The latter was a handy batter at number 5 or 6 but lacked consistency.

Abdul Samad should be in the role of finisher at number 5 and will hold the key to a big total. Jharkhand finished with 4 wins from 7 matches last year. With a new addition to the bowling attack, they should be hoping for an improved position in the points table this season.

Bowling is where they need to improve. And this match will be a great opportunity to do just that. The pitch offers help for the bowlers and with a left-arm orthodox Anukul Roy, Jharkhand will be backing themselves to put J&K in trouble.

They’ve also got Varun Aaron in the bowling department along with the likes of Sushant Mishra and all-rounder Vikash Singh. Skipper Virat Singh looked great in the T20 league in Delhi earlier this year and will be the key batsman for Jharkhand.

While there is no Saurabh Tiwary this season to open the innings for Jharkhand, they’ve got a strong southpaw batter in Ishan Kishan. The top 4 will look a lot different than last season as not a single batter from that squad is part of the 2024-25 side.
