The 2024 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) table is starting to take shape and ahead of this match it was Rangpur Riders and Chattogram Challengers leading the way on 10 points from seven games. However, waiting in the wings, and with a game in hand are Comilla Victorians and Khulna Tigers.
At the foot of the table the last week has seen Durdanto Dhaka replace Sylhet Strikers as the bottom placed side. If the Strikers want to be taken seriously in this tournament then they will need to pick up a win in this match on Friday afternoon but whether or not they have the depth to beat the Tigers is another thing altogether!

Khulna Tigers need to get their batting order sorted ahead of this game with their skipper and keeper-batter Anamul Haque keeping his place at the top of the order. Alongside him, Evin Lewis came back into the side after recovering from an injury ahead of the last game but young Parvez Hossain Emon, who had deputised so well for Lewis as an opener in the previous match was unnecesarily sent down to number five and he should be back up into the top three in this fixture.
Bowling wise, there is plenty of depth in the attack with Mohammad Wasim, Raheem Ashraf, Nasum Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz likely to be the most threatening.

There was a disappointing departure of Zimbabwe left-arm pace bowler Richard Ngarava from Sylhet Strikers ahead of their last game with the strike-bowler leaving the BPL for the riches of the ILT20 in the UAE. However, his absence opened up an additional overseas player spot and Benny Howell enjoyed his return to the team.
With the bat, the Strikers still have not quite cracked their order but Najmul Hossain Shanto looks a lot more comfortable batting at first drop as opposed to opening. The middle order pair of Benny Howell and Ryan Burl will both be looked at to provide useful runs late in the innings if required.

The weather is unlikely to play much of a role in this game with no great changes in either humidity levels or temperature across the match. There will be no rain although there will be some cloud cover at times.
After the initial games in this stage saw more runs scored, recent matches have shown a two-paced surface in Mirpur. Any score of 165+ is likely to be more than enough to win this match.
We have seen one side choose to bat first and go onto win the game in this phase of the tournament but our expectation is that both teams will want to bowl first in this match.
Although Khulna Tigers are four points above Sylhet Strikers in the table, recent form has the Strikers arriving for this game fancying their chances. However, the Strikers wins have come only against the bottom of the table teams and they have struggled against those with more depth to their batting and bowling. Khulna Tigers are not in great form but we are still backing them to win this match.
