North West Preview

Wihan Lubbe's side has lost both games, and the skipper would be upset with the 3-wicket loss in the last game against the Dolphins. They threw a game they should have won and need better performances from their players in the next one. The side plays at home, and they would like to use it to their advantage.  

Lesego Senokwane and Lesiba Ngoepe haven’t scored runs, and the side needs a good show from them in this contest. Raynard van Tonder Lubbe and Senuran Muthusamy did well in the last game, and the side will expect a good show from the trio in the middle order. Ruan de Swardt, Meeka eel Prince, and Duan Jansen must do well in the lower middle order.  

The bowlers failed to hold their nerves after making a good start in the last game. Kerwin Mungroo and Duan Jansen will look to repeat their show with the new ball from the last game. Janneman Malan’s side must get over the 237-run loss against the Titans in the last game. It was a horrible day at the office for the side as neither their batsmen nor the bowlers lived up to the reputation. They must come out of this loss and play with a positive frame of mind to win.  

Janneman Malan and Clyde Fortuin must set up a big partnership as they will face a nippy new ball attack. Keegan Petersen, Pieter Malan, and Michael Copeland make a strong middle order and they must bat well. Christiaan Jonker and Aviwe Mgijima will look to do well in the finishing role.   

The bowling attack was slaughtered in the last game, and they will need good spells with the new ball from Hardus Viljoen and Glenton Stuurman. Aviwe Mgijima and Akhona Mnyaka are good bowlers, and they will have to bowl tight spells. Ferisco Adams and Copeland must fill in the role of the 5th bowler.

There is a forecast for clear skies at Potchefstroom and there would be ideal conditions for a game. There would be some moisture in the wicket which will assist the bowlers in the initial overs. The side batting first will aim to have 300 runs on the scoreboard.

Senwes Park, Potchefstroom has been known to be a good ground for the batsmen. With comparatively shorter boundaries compared to some of the other grounds in the country batsmen have liked playing here. The ball also tends to do a little bit in the initial overs which will encourage the bowlers.
