Saudi Arabia and Bhutan are in a very poor position with regard to expecting qualification to the next round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Both teams are without a victory after having played two matches of the season. The likelihood of qualification looks difficult already with Saudi Arabia and Bhutan being among the three teams yet to pick up points this season. They are already four points behind table leaders UAE and Qatar, who are favourites to progress into the regional finals. This will be the first meeting between South Arabia and Bhutan since February 2024 when the former picked up a massive victory.

Saudi Arabia did reasonably well to come close to getting points off UAE in the recent match. After being sent out to chase a target of 163, Saudi Arabia folded for 145 runs and it was a valiant effort from the team. Despite losing some early wickets, there were plenty of positives like a strong lower-order contribution.
Abdul Waheed might have been the leading scorer in the tournament so far with 116 runs from his two innings, but he failed to make a big impression against UAE. Waheed, though, can be backed to bounce back strongly against a struggling Bhutan outfit. Manan Ali is another player who has been relatively consistent after adding 58 runs from his two innings at an average of 29.
Ishtiaq Ahmad was one of the wicket-takers against UAE after breaking the opening partnership but he was unable to build on from the same. So far this season, Ishtiaq Ahmad has picked up three wickets at an average of 20. So far, the bowling partnership has been a letdown for Saudi Arabia and it has to pick up on a bowling wicket.

Bhutan head into the encounter having suffered a big loss against Qatar. The six-wicket defeat has inflicted a big blow upon the Net Run Rate numbers and it may take a while for Bhutan to bounce back from this loss. There were very few positives against Qatar after being able to post a total of just 111. The manner of this performance was apparent from Qatar requiring just 16 overs to hit the target.
Ranjung Mikyo Dorji manages to top the charts as the best batsman for the team in the qualifiers but he has been able to manage only 39 runs from his two innings. Gakul Ghalley comes second with only 32 runs. The lack of strength in the batting line-up continues to be a big problem for Bhutan, who are unlikely to come up with a strong performance as long as this persists.
Bhutan have had more success with the ball with Sonam Yeshey topping the charts in the wicket-taking ability with three wickets from his two innings. He was one of the few bright spots for Bhutan in the big loss against Qatar.

An average first innings score of 138.5 has been witnessed in the previous two rounds of the matches at the University of Doha for Science and Technology ground in Doha. The average second innings score stands at a very modest 107.5. The pitch is expected to be in favour of the bowlers. The game would be played in mostly sunny conditions with maximum temperatures hitting 31°C.
The University of Doha for Science and Technology ground in Doha will be hosting its third match of the qualification series. So far, Bhutan have suffered a defeat in both of these matches. Saudi Arabia, though, are playing on this ground for the first time.
The toss has elected to field first on both occasions at the University of Doha for Science and Technology ground in Doha. The team has tasted success on one occasion with Bhutan losing the game despite winning the toss.
Saudi Arabia might have lost the first two games of the qualifiers but they are up against a Bhutan outfit, who are in deeper trouble. The lack of any major strength in the batting line-up is likely to lead to more struggles for Bhutan.
Our prediction is for Saudi Arabia to win
