Sadly, Saurashtra could not qualify for the knockout stages in the previous season despite being tied with Gujarat on 20 points as they lost on Net Run Rate. Saurashtra did really well to win four of their last five games to be in contention for the knockout stage. Saurashtra's last five wins have come against Punjab, Manipur, Arunachal, Andhra, and Goa.
More importantly, all of these were comfortable wins, including some massive wins such as a win over Manipur by 85 runs, a win over Arunachal by 10 wickets and 99 balls remaining and a win over Andhra by 7 wickets. In batting, Harvik Desai leads the chart with 430 runs in last 10 games with a strike rate of 160.44 and an average of 61.43. Tarang Gohel is their second best batter with 212 runs in 7 matches at an amazing strike rate of over 200 and an average of above 35.
In Bowling, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja and Chirag Jani are doing well for Saurashtra, both claiming 12 wickets in last 10 matches at a similar strike rate of around 17. However, Jadeja's economy is superior to Jani's. Jadeja's economy is 6.9, whereas Jani's economy is 8.76. Saurashtra is looking to go one step further and they have the team to do that under Jaidev Unadkat's captaincy. They should start with a win against Sikkim.

Sikkim is among the weakest teams in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. They lost all seven matches in the previous season. It's not just that Sikkim lost all 7 games, but the way they lost these games tells a lot about this team's caliber.
Out of the 7 games in the last season, they lost 4 games by more than 100 runs, and 2 games were lost by 8 wickets, with about half the balls remaining to be bowled. In four games, they considered over 200 runs. And in two games, when Sikkim got to bat first, they could not even cross 100. The only good thing we can say about Sikkim is the only way from here is up.
In batting, Ashish Thapa is their top scorer with 163 runs in last 10 matches with a strike rate of 96.44. Ankur Malik is the second best batter with 129 runs in 10 matches with a strike rate of 93.47. In Bowling, Palzor, Tamang, and Ankur Malik have been among the wickets. Tamang has 7 wickets in the last 9 matches, while Malik has 6 wickets in the last 10 matches. Both have poor economy and bad strike rates. Suffice to say, Sikkim can only hope for a fight against a good team such as Saurashtra.

The weather on the match day at Indore is expected to be sunny with a high of approximately 29°C and a low of around 17°C. It’s a warm and dry day with no signs of rain.
The venue of the match is Emerald High School Ground, Indore. It was established in 2001. It is a very small ground in of seating capacity, which is approximately 500. The ground has hosted Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy games.
The conditions at the Emerald High School ground in Indore are quite balanced for batting and bowling. In a T20 game, in such situation, it is always preferable to bowl first. The team winning a toss should bowl first here.
It's not a match, it's a mismatch between Saurashtra who did really well last season and narrowly missed out on a spot in the knockouts against Sikkim who lost all of their games in the last season. Saurashtra should walk all over Sikkim in this game irrespective of the toss result or the conditions on the match day. Sikkim will do well to show some fight and stay in the game as long as possible. We think it's an easy win for Saurashtra against Sikkim in this game.
We predict that Saurashtra will defeat Sikkim.
