West Delhi Lions will lock horns with Central Delhi Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the 12th match of the Delhi Premier League. Both teams are coming into this match on the back of a strong batting performance in their last outing.
The Kings have been more consistent as far as batting returns are concerned. They have scored 170+ runs in their last 3 outings. This has been a huge comeback from Central Delhi who were bowled out for 61 runs in their opening game.
Yash Dhull, Dhruv Kaushik, and skipper Jonty Sidhu are the key batters in this side. The captain also delivers with the ball and is a key all-rounder.
West Delhi Lions chased down 150 in their opening game and finished with just 141 in the next outing. It was finally in their last match that they scored a competitive total led by Ankit Kumar’s 73-run knock at the top.
Not only have both teams delivered big with the bat but have found form with the ball as well. And this match promises to be a close contest.

Central Delhi Kings have delivered strong performances that did not convert into wins. But in their last match, with the bowlers finding help from the pitch in the second innings, the Kings were on top of the game as they secured a 109-run win over Purani Delhi 6.
Dhruv Kaushik and Yash Dhull are the key batters in the top order. Both have scored a fifty each and when neither of them managed to reach that mark in the last game, skipper Jonty Sidhu and Aryan Rana stepped up and delivered big.
Sidhu scored 50 off 22 at number 4 while Rana, coming in at 5, was unbeaten on 75 off 38 balls taking Central Delhi past the 200-run mark. The Kings look threatening as far as their batting lineup is concerned.
Kaushik and Dhull were scoring big so far but with the right from the middle order, Central Delhi’s batting will now become even stronger. The bigger positive for the Kings was the bowling performance in the last game.
They failed to put any sort of pressure on the opposition while defending 176 and 175 in their previous outings but in the last match, they were exceptional. Money Grewal and Sumit Kumar along with skipper Sidhu were the key bowlers.
Grewal has been consistent with the ball and has delivered key breakthroughs in every game. He is one to watch out for in this bowling attack.

After losing their second match of the season while defending 141 runs, West Delhi Lions bounced back with a strong batting performance. Ankit Kumar led the side to a good total with a brilliant performance at the top.
However, the Lions need a lot more than this. They need others to step up too. Ekansh Dobal is a strong middle-order who can be a great impact player. In the last match, he was promoted to the top of the order to open along with Ankit and was out for a golden duck.
No one in the middle-order’s made a stronger impact for West Delhi Lions. Ankit Kumar was the top-scorer in the opening game where they won by 3 wickets chasing a 145-run target. The opener scored 39 off 15 balls.
Anmol Sharma, Aryan Dalal, and Dev Larka all failed in the middle order and were replaced by Vivek Yadav and Krish Yadav in the last game at 3 and 4. West Delhi Lions would expect Vivek and Krish to find their form and deliver big in this match.
Navdeep Saini’s poor run of form is a big concern for the Lions. He’s been expensive and failed to deliver breakthroughs. Akhil Chaudhary, Rohit Yadav, and Hrithik Shokeen are the key bowlers in this attack. These 3 have found quite a bit of success and were quick to deliver breakthroughs in the last match.

Minimal TurnIt is a balanced wicket at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi which has seen batter dominate the bowlers in recent outings. The average 1st innings score at this venue in the last 10 matches of the Delhi Premier League is 186 runs. The pitch helped the bowlers in the second innings of the recent CDK match but before, the batters enjoyed playing their strokes throughout the match.
Teams bowling first have won 8 of the 10 matches in this tournament so far. Though this venue is known to produce slow and spin-friendly pitches, this tournament has witnessed some high-scoring games. And most teams tend to bowl first on winning the toss.
West Delhi Lions have plenty of work to do. Though they scored much better than their previous outings, they still haven’t got any reliable batters other than Ankit Kumar. Central Delhi Kings, on the other hand, have a strong batting lineup with in-form players at the top and in the middle. Their bowlers also look more promising and hence, Central Delhi will have the edge going into this match.
