With the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy just over two months away, plenty of attention is being paid to ODI cricket at the moment. Bangladesh will be competing in the tournament and will fancy their chances on the pitches in Pakistan but unfortunately, after missing out on the 2023 Cricket World Cup, West Indies will not be a part of the competition.

But there is still plenty to play for in the host camp! They come into this series off the back of a 2-1 series home win over an experimental England side and will now be looking to beat a full strength Bangladesh outfit.

West Indies Preview

After beating England by 8 wickets in the first and the third ODIs in October and November, West Indies come into this series with a bit of momentum and looking like a team who are building strong foundations in this format.

Once again they will be led by the incredibly consistent Shai Hope who is a very calm character and does not seem phased by captaining as well as keeping wicket and he brings his phenomenal ODI average of 49.87 from 125 innings into this match. Alongside Hope, we expect Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Keacy Carty and Sherfane Rutherford to be key with the bat.

With the ball, Alzarri Joseph will provide the pace and aggression with Gudakesh Motie alongside Roston Chase set to offer reliable spin options throughout the series.

After losing their last series 2-1 to Afghanistan, one of the eight teams who will be competing alongside Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy next month, the Tigers will be desperate to return to winning ways in this format!

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, fast becoming one of their most reliable, consistent and explosive players across all-formats, will once again lead the team. He hit a half-century in their last ODI with the experienced Mahmudullah hitting a run-a-ball 98.

With the ball, Shoriful Islam is a skilful new ball bowler and will get swing early on. Mustafizur Rahman brings plenty of experience into this series and has a wide variety of wicket taking deliveries.
