After two losses in the first two T20Is, the Indian team fought back to their first win at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. Suryakumar Yadav's unwavering determination thwarted West Indies' chances of sealing the five-match T20I series before the action relocated to the United States. The series is now poised with West Indies leading 2-1.

The fourth T20I of the five-match T20 series will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill Florida on 12th August from 8:30 PM onwards.

In an unexpected move, Hardik Pandya utilized four overs of spin during the PowerPlay, disrupting the rhythm of the West Indian top order. The opening duo laid a strong foundation with a partnership exceeding 50 runs, and Brandon King assumed the role of an anchor, guiding the innings forward.

Despite Nicholas Pooran falling short of a significant score today, his contribution during the middle overs injected momentum into the West Indian innings. India managed to stage a comeback through Kuldeep Yadav, who secured three crucial wickets, yet struggled to contain the West Indies captain. Rovman Powell's impactful cameo towards the conclusion could prove pivotal, as his rapid 40 runs off 19 balls elevated the total to the significant 160-mark.

In return, Yashaswi Jaiswal endured a disappointing debut, squandering his wicket in the opening over. However, this setback ushered in Suryakumar Yadav to the crease, and his initial two deliveries resulted in a boundary and a six. This swift start established a dynamic tone, with Suryakumar requiring a ive partner at the opposite end. Tilak Varma seamlessly filled that role, forming a harmonious combination of assertiveness and composure. While Suryakumar continued to dispatch boundaries, Varma adeptly maneuvered the strike to maintain the rhythm of the partnership.

Tilak Varma fell just one run shy of achieving a second consecutive T20I half-century, while Hardik Pandya sealed the victory for the team with a six down the track off Powell's bowling in the 18th over. This was India’s 10th win in the last 13 T20Is against West Indies. The final two matches are scheduled to take place in the United States over the weekend.

West Indies Preview

West Indies failed behind in the third T20I despite having a great start from the openers. This was mainly because the runs came at a lower strike rate. King and Myers will open the innings for West Indies. A 55-run partnership in the first innings took their combined runs tally to 1108 runs in 24 innings since the start of the last year. But their strike rate is just above 125. Another hurdle for West Indies is the struggle of Jonathan Charles at number three. Since his hundred against South Africa, Charles has scored 17 runs in 4 games. But Fort Lauderhill is his favorite destination where he has 182 runs in 4 games at a strike rate of 152.94. Powell might have a word with his top order to play more aggressively like himself and Pooran in the middle.

Though Pooran missed scoring big runs in the third game, he is still a threat for India. Pooran became the second leading run scorer for West Indies (1614 runs) ing Marlon Samuels. He has the most runs against India as a West Indian. Besides this, Pooran is the leading run scorer for the home side since 2022 with 769 runs in 28 innings at a strike rate of 137.07. His middle-order partner, Rovman Powell is just shy of 65 runs (704 runs) with a game less. Powell is striking at 154.72 and has hit the most sixes (54)  during this period. In fact, his quick innings of 39 in 20 balls helped his side adding 46 runs in the last 4 overs. Pooran and Powell will be the batters to look out for.

West Indies bowlers faced the wrath of Suryakumar Yadav in the last game. Yet It was Alzarri Joseph who stood out amongst them. Joseph took 2 wickets in the game to tie up with Kuldeep Yadav as the leading wicket-taker of the series. West Indies will likely keep Roston Chase in the squad as the bowling track at Florida is spin friendly.

Key Players: Nicholas Pooran, Alzarri Joseph, Rovman Powell.

West Indies Predicted Playing XI:

Rovman Powell (capt), Kyle Mayers (vice-capt), Johnson Charles, Obed McCoy, Shimron Hetmyer, Brandon King, Obed McCoy, Alzarri Joseph, Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, Romario Shepherd.

India Preview

A win in the third T20I kept India’s series hopes alive, but at the same time it exposed the flaws in the openers. Shubman Gill is yet to score a two digit figure in this series. He has ed 3, 7, and 6 runs. Jaiswal, who had his debut managed just 1 run. Indian openers have scored 50 runs losing their wickets for 6 times. It was Suryakumar Yadav who came to the rescue.

Surya scored 83 runs of 44 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes. With 83 runs, he ed Shikhar Dhawan to become the fourth leading run-scorer for India in T20Is. The world number 1 T20 batter has 347 runs in 10 games against Windies at a strike rate of 170. As he is back in the party mode, he will be the choice for the top batter from Indian side. One player who has impressed everyone is none other than Tilak Verma. The series debutant missed his hlf century by just a run while remaining not out on the other end. He has 139 runs in three games at an average of 69 and a strike rate of 130. The Mumbai Indians duo will be the key in the fourth game.

Bringing Kuldeep Yadav in for Bishnoi worked in favor for India as the chinaman picked 3 wickets for 28 in his 4 overs spell. But Chahal got whacked for 33. Bishnoi can be brought back in place of Chahal for the fourth T20I. He has played two games in Florida where he picked 6 wickets. Indeed a great stat on a spin friendly pitch. Indian pacers, excluding Hardik Pandya have just 5 wickets in three games. Avesh Khan or Umran Malik can be tried over Arshdeep or Mukesh.

Key Players: Tilak Verma, Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav.

India Predicted Playing XI:

Yashaswi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Tilak Verma, Surya Kumar Yadav (VC), Sanju Samson (wk), Hardik Pandya (C), Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar.

Weather Conditions

Partly cloudy in the morning followed by scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. The temperature will range between 27 and 34. The wind will be flowing from the west at 10-25 kmh. The pitch at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground is typically known for its true and even bounce, providing a fair contest between bat and ball. The surface tends to be on the slower side, encouraging spinners to play a vital role as the match progresses. Seam bowlers may also find assistance early on due to the presence of a grass covering, which could aid movement and swing.

The fourth T20I of the five-match T20 series will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill Florida on 12th August from 8:30 PM onwards. The venue has a capacity of 120000 spectators and has hosted 6 ODIs & 14 T20Is. In 2016, India and West Indies scored 489 runs in a game where Windies won by just a run.

Toss: To Bat

In 14 T20Is, the results have favored the team defending the target 11 times. Even the last five games have been won by the team that opted to bat first. The average first innings score at Providence is 164. West Indies have scored 245 runs (highest) on this ground batting first. The team winning the toss should bat first.

A convincing win in the third T20I have brought India on front foot. India’s record in the USA is what makes them a choice to take the fourth game. In 5 T20Is, India have ed three wins. The one game they lost was by just 1 run. Besides this, if Suryakumar Yadav is in flow, there will be hardly any side who can think of winning.

We predict that India will defeat West Indies.
