Patna Pirates, a team that no one expected to be so dominant after their initial few games, have risen to be a powerhouse and a team that has been hard to beat, other than the Haryana Steelers and U Mumba, who have comfortably outlasted the Pirates, knowing their weaknesses better than other opponents.

But the big question is: will coach Narender Redhu and his boys come out with something different, as they have always done in the past, that has led them to being one of the most successful teams in the history of PKL. Devank Dalal, the league's lead raider with 280 raid points, has been the find of the season. On average, he has scored 12.72 raid points per game and has 18 Super 10s to his tally, the t most this season alongside Ashu Malik. 

His partner in crime, Ayan Lohchab, with 165 raid points, is the sixth best this season. 1  When both these raiders get going, there is no stopping the Pirates. The best part about both these raiders is that they are quick, agile, and can score raid points in four- and five-man defensive setups, unlike other teams who struggle during this phase.   

Their defense, under the leadership of Ankit Jaglan, has gotten better with every ing game, where Ankit leads the way with 70 tackle points. Deepak Singh, with 59 tackle points—their corner-cover combo duo—has done the most damage to their opponents. The season two champions and a team that will garner all the of the fans from Pune, U Mumba will look to end their eight-season-long run of not winning a PKL trophy. This season they have a much more balanced side and have performed well as a team rather than relying on single individuals to do all the scoring.

Ahead of their clash against the Pirates, Mumba will be confident of making it 3-0 against the Pirates this season. In their earlier games against the Pirates, Ajit Chavan was the lead raider, where he scored 15 and 19 raid points. While Sunil Kumar has picked up six tackle points, Lokesh Ghosliya did have a huge hand in taking down Devan three times in match 122.

It is their defensive ability and their ability in clutch games that has seen them end up on the winning side in close matches in most of their games. Now, Mumba does have a strong backup of raiders who can overpower the Pirates' raiders and score points when their team needs them most. 

The strategy for Mumba will be to keep the pace of the game fast in the initial stages and avoid slowing it down too much in the second half; this is where the Pirates usually look to speed up the game and outscore their opponents.
