Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Capitals - Previous Encounter
The Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Capitals fixture last took place in the previous edition of IPL at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. It was a thrilling encounter, and in the end, the Delhi Capitals came out as the winners.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bat first. Their top order started on a good note, where Prithvi Shaw (43 off 27 balls) and David Warner (52 off 35 balls) had a good partnership. However, both batters are missing out from the team in the ongoing season.
Rishabh Pant came in at number 3 and scored 51 off 32 balls at a strike rate of 159.38. He is also not part of the squad because the wicket-keeper batter has ed the Lucknow Super Giants. For the fixture, Jake Fraser McGurk and Faf du Plessis will play an important role for the team at the start. Abhishek Porel and KL Rahul will come to bat at numbers 3 and 4, respectively.
On the bowling front, Delhi Capitals had Khaleel Ahmed, Ishant Sharma, Anrich Nortje, and Mukesh Kumar. However, this year, the Delhi Capitals are largely dependent on Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, and skipper Axar Patel. Khaleel Ahmed will be on the opposite end this year with the Chennai Super Kings.
Chennai Super Kings have the same top order with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra. However, they both failed to give the team a good start last year. They will also have Rhaul Tripathi at the start of the game, who can build partnerships and anchor the innings. Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja will be part of the middle order; they were also there against Delhi Capitals in the previous edition. Vijay Shankar is the new addition to the team who is expected to play at number 4.
On the bowling front, Chennai Super Kings had Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande, and Mustafizur Rehman in the previous clash. However, this year, Khaleel Ahmed will start the game against his former team. Noor Ahmad is the best spin option CSK has in the squad.
