Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore - Previous Encounter
Delhi Capitals met Royal Challengers Bangalore last time at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and came out as the winners. It was a comfortable win for the team, and the onus of the win goes to the batting unit of Delhi.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bowl first. It was a good start from their bowlers as the pacers didn’t allow the opening batters of Bangalore to settle down and become dangerous. Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav scalped 2 wickets each at an economy of 4.50 and 4.25, respectively. Mukesh Kumar and Mohit Sharma contributed with a single wicket each.
Royal Challengers Bangalore received an average start from the opening partnership. Virat Kohli (22 off 14) and Phil Salt (37 off 17) tried to build the momentum, but once their partnership was broken, things worked against Bangalore. Tim David at the lower order gave the major push to the overall score with 37 off 20 balls at a strike rate of 185.
Delhi Capitals had a poor start to their innings as they lost the first three wickets at a score of 30 runs. KL Rahul handled the situation well and became the top scorer in the match with 93 off 53 balls at a strike rate of 175.47. Tristan Stubbs was quick to score 38 off 23 balls at a strike rate of 165.22.
The bowling unit of Royal Challengers Bangalore was weak and failed to scalp wickets in the 2nd spell. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 2 wickets at an economy of 6.50. Yash Dayal and Suyash Sharma contributed with a single wicket each. It was not a positive performance from the Bangalore bowlers, and hence an unfortunate loss for the hosts.
