The ICC Champions Trophy is all set to begin and every squad is ready to lift ICC’s one of the premier trophies. There is a total of 8 teams who have qualified for the tournament but the T20 World Cup 2024 winners, Team India, will be in the spotlight. India has won the tournament twice and they will be eyeing to win the trophy for the third time.
It is because of the political tensions between the hosts Pakistan and India, team India will be playing all of their fixtures in Dubai. The team has experience playing in Dubai and they are well aware of the playing conditions. On every online betting cricket website, India will have favourable odds for the tournament.
Team India has not played much of the ODI format in the last year. They have played against Sri Lanka last year, a series which they lost. In January, right before the start of the Champions Trophy, team India dominated the ODI series against England by 3-0.
BCCI and the selection committee have announced the final squad. Rohit Sharma will be the team leader. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul have retained their spots in the team but Yashaswi Jaiswal has been ruled to accommodate 5 spinners in the team.
Men in Blue have already received a big blow as their top pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out due to an injury. His absence will impact the team's combination and betting tips in every match prediction.
In this article, we bring you the SWOT Analysis of team India for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and in the end, we have also mentioned the winning odds for men in blue.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 - India - SWOT Analysis
Strength
Team India’s strength lies in their batting unit with multiple star batters in the team. Shubhman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel provide the required depth to the team in the batting unit. The presence of experienced players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli is an added advantage.
In the recently held ODI series against England, Shubhman Gill came out as the leading run-scorer in the series after struggling for months in international cricket. He will be expected to continue the momentum in Dubai as well. Shreyas Iyer has made an impressive comeback to the team as he came out as the 2nd highest run-scorer in the league.

Rohit Sharma also showed a glimpse of his return to his old form and if he continues to score runs for the team, it won’t be an easy task to stop Team India in the Champions Trophy.
Weakness
Team India is playing 5 spinners during the tournament. That showcases their over-dependency on the spin attack. With the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, their pace attack has become a major weakness. Mohammad Shami has made his comeback to the team but he is yet to showcase his old form which everyone saw during the ODI World Cup 2023. Mohammad Siraj is another pace option in the team but he has been inconsistent and that makes him a vulnerable player. A void has been created in the team and that might not work in favour of India during the competition.
Opportunity
There are two key opportunities for Team India. The first one has come in the form of Shreyas Iyer who has been a major contributor for India in the recently held India vs England ODI series. Coming at number 4, Shreyas Iyer will be expected to continue the momentum that will be established by the top order.
Another opportunity has come in the form of Harshit Rana. During the India vs England ODI series, Harshit came out as the 3rd highest wicket-taker. It was his debut series and the youngster has proved himself worthy of the Champions Trophy.

Threat
The biggest threat to Team India is the failure of their experienced players. The run-scoring machine Virat Kohli has been a complete failure in recent times. He has been unimpressive in both ODI and Test formats in recent times and has given up on his wicket very easily. India is still waiting for Mohammad Shami to take the lead in the pace attack. Skipper Rohit Sharma has scored a century after a long time but it is not yet sure that will he be able to continue the momentum in the Champions Trophy.
