IPL 2025 - Big Blow to RR, Sanju Samson to Miss Clash Against RCB

Rajasthan Royals are currently not having best of their best time in IPL 2025. They are struggling to win matches, and with only 2 wins in the league, the chances for them to reach the playoffs are very bleak.
On top of it, the Rajasthan Royals have received some bad news before the beginning of their fixture against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Skipper Sanju Samson will miss out on the 2nd consecutive fixture because of his abdominal injury. The injury occurred during the Rajasthan Royals’ fixture against Delhi Capitals.
RCB vs RR will be the 42nd fixture of the league stage, and the odds on the betting sites in India speak volumes for the performance of both sides. Sanju Samson also missed out on the previous game, which took place against Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
"Samson is currently undergoing recovery and will remain at the team's home base (Jaipur) with select RR medical staff," the franchise said in a statement. The team management also mentioned that Sanju Samson won’t be travelling with the team to Bangalore.
The absence of Sanju Samson has created a major void in the batting lineup of the Rajasthan Royals. In his absence, youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi has taken the number 2 spot, and Riyan Parag will be leading the team in Bangalore. These unexpected changes might impact the team chemistry and rhythm of the batters at the top.
Sanju Samson was already struggling with a finger injury at the start of the league. He missed out on leading the team in the first 3 fixtures. However, the player has again suffered an injury and will miss out on one more fixture.
