The first week of IPL 2025 is coming to an end, and we are down to the 9th fixture in the league. GT vs MI will be the 9th match of IPL 2025 that will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday.
Since the unexpected trade of Hardik Pandya last year, the two teams have developed a rivalry. Another interesting aspect of the two teams coming face to face in the league is that they both are in the process of reviving their spark in the IPL.
Gujarat Titans won the league once in their debut season, and they also reached the 2nd consecutive final in the previous edition. However, in the previous edition, the Gujarat Titans finished in the 8th spot.

The start of the league stage for the Titans has not been good. They lost their first fixture against Punjab Kings. Their bowling unit looked unstable, but the team management will be happy to see their core batters doing the job well.
For the Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, and Tilak Varma were the retained players. However, Jasprit Bumrah is still out of action because of his ongoing back injury.

2) Jos Buttler vs Trent Boult
England vs New Zealand brings out the best among the players from both ends. However, if the tournament is the IPL, a much bigger rivalry can be expected. A similar situation will occur when Jos Buttler faces Trent Boult in the first spell of the game. What makes their face-off more interesting is that they were both teammates at one point in IPL while playing for the Rajasthan Royals. However, a lot has changed with both players and on Saturday, it will be a real test for both players to play against each other. Trent Boult has not managed to scalp Buttler’s wicket in the last 8 T20 clashes, whereas Buttler has managed to score 79 runs off 50 balls bowled by Trent Boult.

3) Suryakumar Yadav vs Rashid Khan
Suryakumar Yadav vs Rachid Khan will be an interesting contest to watch out for on Saturday as they both are T20 expert players in their own field. Surya is known for his dominating batting against leg spinners and Rashid Khan is known to stun the best of the best batters in the world with his spin variations. However, Rashid Khan has never dismissed Suryakumar Yadav in the IPL, and the latter carries a strike rate of 148.27 against the leg spinner.
