Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Titans - Previous Encounter
The previous meeting of MI vs GT took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium during the first week of IPL 2025. It was a one-sided affair where Gujarat’s batting unit performed with the right pace, but Mumbai's batters were absolute failures. The bowling unit of the Gujarat Titans created havoc for the opposition, and hence, it was a dominating win for the Titans. For the 2nd fixture on Monday, the bowlers from both ends will be in the spotlight at the legal betting apps in India.
Mumbai Indians won the toss, and their bowlers gave a slow start to the team. Hardik Pandya scalped 2 wickets at an economy of 7.25. Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Mujeeb ur Rehman, and Satyanarayana Raju scalped a single wicket each but failed to control the run rate of the opposition.
Gujarat Titans' batting unit did a fabulous job. Sai Sudharsan was the leading run scorer on the day with 63 off 41 balls at a strike rate of 153.66. Shubman Gill (28 off 27) and Jos Buttler (39 off 24) also gave the push to the overall score.
Mumbai Indians also witnessed a slow start as their top order was a complete failure. Tilak Varma (39 off 36) at number 3 and Suryakumar Yadav (48 off 28) had a good partnership for the team, but the rest of the batters failed to make an impact and come even close to the target.
For the Gujarat Titans, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna picked up 2 wickets each at an economy of 8.50 and 4.50, respectively. Kagiso Rabada and Sai Kishore scalped a single wicket each and helped the team to score an easy win.
