Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants - Previous Encounter

RR vs LSG last time was a thrilling game. It took place in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League at the league stage on the home ground of Lucknow Super Giants - Ekana Cricket Stadium. In the end, the Rajasthan Royals came out as the winners.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first. After two quick wickets, the bowling unit struggled to break the partnerships during the middle overs. Sandeep Sharma picked up 2 wickets in 4 overs at an economy of 7.75. Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, and Ravichandran Ashwin scalped a single wicket each in the game.

The batting unit of Lucknow Super Giants received two quick jolts at the start of the game as Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis lost their wickets at an early stage. However, KL Rahul came out as the leading run-scorer with 76 off 48 balls at a strike rate of 158.33. Deepak Hooda also gave a good push to the overall score with 50 off 31 balls at a strike rate of 161.29.

For the Rajasthan Royals, Yashasvi Jaiswal (24 off 18) and Jos Buttler (34 off 18) gave their team a good start. However, it was the innings of Sanju Samson that made a huge difference. Samson ended up scoring 71 off 33 balls at a strike rate of 215.15. His innings took the team really close to the winning number. Dhruv Jurel did the rest of the job by scoring 52 off 34 balls at a strike rate of 152.94.

The bowling unit of the Lucknow Super Giants was weak. Their key bowlers failed to control the run rate of the opposition and scalp timely wickets. Yash Thakur, Marcus Stoinis, and Amit Mishra picked up a single wicket each and rest of the bowling unit went wicketless.

The meeting between the two teams will be the 6th meeting in the history of IPL. Both teams need a win, but the team with the right combination of players will come out as the winner.
