Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals - Previous Encounter
The previous meeting between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals took place in the first week of IPL 2025. It was at the home ground of the Delhi Capitals, and they scored a comfortable win. The onus of the win goes to their top-order batting unit, who completed the task and dominated the game.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and they started the match by electing to bat. However, it was a completely opposite start from the heavyweight batters. Their top order was a complete failure, and it was a disappointing performance overall. Aniket Verma was the leading run-scorer with 74 off 41 balls at a strike rate of 180.49. Heinrich Klassen was his partner and managed to score 32 off 19 balls at a strike rate of 168.42.
Delhi Capitals' bowling unit made a good start to the match. Mitchell Starc was on fire and scalped 5 wickets in 4 overs at an economy of 9.55. Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3 wickets at an economy of 5.50. Mohit Sharma contributed with a single wicket.
On the bowling front, it was again a poor show by the Hyderabad bowlers. Only Zeeshan Ansari managed to pick wickets, and he scalped 3 wickets at an economy of 10.50. The rest of the bowlers failed to scalp wickets and gave away the match easily.
Delhi Capitals' batting unit received a fabulous start from the top order. Jake Fraser-McGurk (38 off 32) and Faf du Plessis (50 off 27) had a good partnership at the start. Abishek Porel also contributed with 34 off 18 balls at a strike rate of 188.89. KL Rahul (15 off 5) and Tristan Stubbs (21 off 14) completed the chase easily.
