Right Folks! It's been a wild seven weeks for all of us IPL fans. This season has been unusual, with high-scoring games throughout and a disappointing final week where three matches rained out, including a crucial one for Rajasthan Royals. They've faced some setbacks, but the league stages are done and dusted, and the exciting IPL 2024 Playoffs are here!
The first match of the playoffs is a banger a clash between two batting powerhouses who dominated every other team in the league with their explosive performances. Qualifier 1 features Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Eliminator, on May 22nd, is a different story, a clash between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, who reached the playoffs in contrasting ways. Let's talk about some interesting points and check the odds of which team has the best chance of winning the 2024 IPL season!
Qualifier 1 - KKR vs SRH
When you compare both the teams balance, Kolkata Knight Riders has a well balanced squad than Sunrisers Hyderabad in of team balance, a strong batting and bowling lineup. KKR definitely has an edge over SRH in of quality spin bowling attack which SRH lacks and they heavily relied on their three primary bowlers at Pat Cummins, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan to take wickets and steer the game. Sunrisers Hyderabad's major strength has been their batting but their major wins have come while batting first and in a couple of games they struggled to chase down totals trying to be ultra aggressive.
On the other hand Kolkata Knight Riders will miss the services of Phil Salt who has been the team's second highest run-scorer. But they do have a like to like replacement for him in the form of Rahmanullah Gurbaz who is equally dangerous when he gets going. KKR’s strength is their spin bowling duo of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakvarthy who can change the game in the middle phase and they have the experience of Mitchell Starc and young rising star Harshit Rana who has won the hero of the earlier fixture between both the teams.
KKR and SRH last clashed off in a playoff game in the IPL in the 2018 IPL season where SRH defeated KKR by 14 runs. Overall SRH has a 2-1 upper hand over KKR but this time around at a neutral venue KKR has a chance to level the head to head record and qualify for the finals.
Our Prediction - Kolkata Knight Riders to win qualifier 1 and advance to the finals

Eliminator - RR vs RCB
One of the most anticipated matches of this year’s IPL is the eliminator match between former IPL champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the comeback heroes of the season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The qualification path has been quite different for both the teams, Rajasthan Royals won seven of their first nine matches and then lost four matches in row and for a team who were at the top of the table for 70% of the regular season fell apart and are now in situation where a loss here means the end of another successful season with no glory.
While Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) who were literally on the edge of the elimination dramatically won their last six matches which includes a phenomenal win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their final group game to edge past CSK, DC and LSG who were all tied on 14 points in Net run rate and qualify to the playoffs. At this point with no Jos Butler in the playing XI for the Rajasthan Royals, RCB will fancy their chances of defeating the Royals and continue their historic run and go onto win the qualifier 2 and the tournament. But RCB bowling attack can be vulnerable at times and unpredictable where they have spilled games from winning positions and their batsman who are in red hot form can be dealt with a huge blow against the most experienced and best bowling attack of the season.
The real battle of this encounter is between the batting unit of RCB and the bowling unit of Rajasthan Royals and the one who emerges on top will go on to win the game. Despite RCB entering the contest as favourites, we back Rajasthan Royals to win the match.
Our Prediction - Rajasthan Royals to win the match and advance to qualifier 2

Qualifier 2 - SRH vs RR
Two sides with contrasting results in their last matches, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals, lock horns in Qualifier 2 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Sunrisers Hyderabad were thrashed by the Kolkata Knight Riders as KKR chased down a paltry 161 runs with ease, winning the match by eight wickets and qualifying for the 2024 IPL finals. While Sunrisers Hyderabad have another shot at reaching the finals, they now face a pressing concern: Travis Head's weakness against left-arm pacers has been exposed. They'll be hoping for a stronger comeback after he scored two ducks in back-to-back games. To address this issue, SRH might consider bringing in Glenn Phillips to replace spinner Vijaykanth Vyskanth and potentially add another spinner, Mayank Markande, for this clash. A lot will rely on the team's most experienced bowlers and Heinrich Klaasen, who has a phenomenal record against Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, secured their first win in May, defeating an in-form RCB team even without their key player, Jos Buttler, in the Eliminator. Much credit goes to Ashwin and Trent Boult for their bowling in the first half of RCB's innings, and to Avesh Khan for his comeback performance in the death overs, restricting RCB to a below-par score. However, their batters, who were in control for most of the game, started to panic, making it seem like the Royals were going to choke again. But this time, Shimron Hetmyer, returning from injury, stepped up and delivered a decisive blow, crushing RCB's hopes. It will be a completely different challenge against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are known for their aggressive approach, taking down opponent bowlers regardless of the match situation. If the Rajasthan Royals want to win the game, their spinners will need to step up.
Our Prediction - Sunrsiers Hyderabad to win the match and advance to the finals.
