The search for the first win of the season continues for Bengaluru Blasters. They will be up against Gulbarga Mystics as they look to continue their newfound batting form.
Bengaluru Blasters will be gutted after their recent loss that saw their batting performance improve. Losing a game by 6 wickets and 7 balls to spare while defending a 188-run total is not easy to digest.
And for a team like Blasters who’ve lost 7 games on the trot, there seems no silver lining at the moment. To make things worse, the opposition, Gulbarga Mystics are in red hot form with the ball.
Their bowlers are consistently delivering match-winning performances that have put the Mystics on top in every single game. Skipper Vijaykumar Vyshak has found from Abhilash Shetty and Hardik Raj in the bowling attack.
And with the middle order delivering consistently in run chases, Gulbarga Mystics have completed a hat trick of wins and will carry the winning momentum into this game.
Gulbarga Mystics won by 6 wickets
Bengaluru Blasters’ poor run of form came to an end with their skipper leading from the font in the last game as they scored 188-5 batting first. After losing their first wicket for just 7 runs, Mayank Agarwal and Dega Neschal built a 122-run partnership for the 2nd wicket.
Shubang Hegde also played a good hand at number 5 and was crucial in taking the team score to 188 after the two set batsmen were back in the hut.
These three along with wicket-keeper batsman Suraj Ahuja will be the key players in the Bengaluru batting lineup to watch out for. Blasters will have realized now just how powerful partnerships can be.
They replaced Jeswanth Acharya and Pavan Deshpande in the middle order with Neschal and Hegde at 3 and 4. The last time Blasters crossed the 170-run mark before this loss was against Mangalore Dragons chasing a 195-run target.
And it was Dega Neschal and Shubhang Hegde who stitched together a 74-run partnership for the 3rd wicket. Though Blasters are dependent on a few batters, their consistency should give the skipper some confidence going into this match. The biggest concern, however, will be the bowling form.
Shubhang Hegde, Sarfaraz Ashraf, and Rishi Bopanna are the key bowlers in this side. And if they fail to deliver breakthroughs, Blasters will be on the back foot once again.
Mayank Agarwal (c), Bhuvan Raju, Dega Nischal, Lochan Appanna, Suraj Ahuja (wk), Shubhang Hegde, Rishi Bopanna, Sarfaraz Ashraf, Gaurav, LR Kumar, Aman Khan

The bowlers are wreaking havoc for Gulbara Mystics. And that’s just what they need as they face a back-in-form Bengaluru Blasters. Winning the toss in each of their last 3 games, the Mystics completely dominated the batting team.
They picked 9 wickets for 120 against Mangalore and bowled out Shivamogga for 121 runs in the next game. They followed this up by restricting the table-toppers Hubli Tigers to 164-6 in the last match.
Abhilash Shetty delivered a crucial breakthrough in the 16th Over breaking the 90-run partnership for the 4th wicket. And from there on, Mystics bagged two more wickets and conceded just 30 runs in the last 26 balls.
Abhilash Shetty, Vijaykumar Vyshak, and Hardik Raj are among the most consistent bowlers in the squad responsible for Mystics’ dominance in the field.
LR Chethan and R Prajwal delivered a good start in their run-chase against Mangalore Dragons. But they haven’t been very consistent at the top and it is the middle order of Gulbarga that has led the side in successful run-chases.
Macneil Hadley Noronha and Smaran R at number 3 and 4 are the impact players in the middle order to watch out for. These two will be crucial to Gulbarga’s success with the bat.
LR Chethan, Macneil Hadley Noronha, Aneesh KV, Smaran R, Amit Verma, Avinash D, Srinivas Sharath (wk), Vijaykumar Vyshak (c), Hardik Raj, Abhilash Shetty, Sharan Goud

It is still a good batting wicket but the bowlers can get some purchase out of the surface with the cutters and back-of-the-hand deliveries. Pace will be loved by the batters as the ball comes on the bat nicely with an even bounce. The weather would be partly cloudy with a high of 32 degrees Celsius.
M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is all set to host the 24th match of the Maharaja Trophy between Bengaluru and Gulbarga. Even though teams batting first are struggling to score big scores at the moment the pitch is still great when chasing. We reckon a 190+ score should be quite competitive 1st innings total at this venue.
The recent games have seen the team batting first struggle a bit including some of the best-performing batting lineups of the tournament. Given the current bowling form of the Mystics and Blasters with their newfound batting rhythm, chasing seems to be the best choice for both teams.
The only positive for Bengaluru Blasters coming into this match is their improved batting performance. However, their bowlers aren’t in great touch and delivered one of their worst performances in the last match. Gulbarga Mystics, on the other hand, have been phenomenal with all-round performances in their recent outings.
While both teams have players who can build key partnerships in the middle, Gulbarga’s quality bowling attack puts them ahead of Bengaluru in our match prediction. Gulbarga Mystics will start as our favorites to win.
