Abu Dhabi T10 League is back and we’ve already had some high-scoring thrillers. Bangla Tigers posted 106 for 1 while batting first in their opening match and ended up losing the game by 6 wickets.
New York Strikers, on the other hand, faced a tough challenge as they were to chase a 136-run target and fell short by 36 runs. Their batting collapsed like a pack of cards with no one in the top or middle order making a big impact in the innings.
Kusal Perera’s 20 off 9 balls at number 3 was the highlight performance for the Strikers in the run chase. Bangla Tigers will need to think again about what a good 1st innings total is.
On the surface, 108 runs might seem like a good total but with the kind of big-hitter in every team in this tournament, even 110 may not be a safe bet.
Tigers have a much stronger batting lineup and skipper Shakib Al Hasan will be hoping for a stronger comeback in this match.

Bangla Tigers failed to defend 106 runs in their last match as they lost by 6 wickets. Shakib Al Hasan and Joshua Little were pretty impressive with the ball as they bowled at an economy rate of 7.50 and 7.00 respectively.
These two will be key bowlers in this match and will be expected to deliver breakthroughs as they did in the previous game. While Rashid Khan may not have been economical in the last match, he is an impactful performer with both bat and ball.
He will be one to watch out for. The batting is where the Tigers’ strength lies. They’ve got some brilliant performers throughout the batting order. Hazratullah Zazai is a big-hitting batter at the top followed by Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka at number 3.
Shanaka scored an unbeaten 62 off 27 in the last game. It was the unbeaten knock of 35 from 26 balls from opener Zazai that held the Tigers back. The likes of Iftikhar Ahmed and Liam Livingstone in the lower order can score quick runs and deliver big finishes for the Bangla Tigers.
There is great depth in this batting lineup and we reckon they should be aiming for an even bigger total if they bat first again. However, considering the results of the first 5 games, we reckon the Tigers should consider batting second this time around.
Hazratullah Zazai, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Shahzad (wk), Liam Livingstone, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Dasun Shanaka, David Payne, Luqman Faisal, Rashid Khan, Joshua Little, Nav Pabreja

The New York Strikers will need to quickly find their form and bounce back in this game. They suffered a huge batting collapse while chasing a massive target against Morrisville Samp Army in their last game.
It wasn’t going to be an easy run chase but the Strikers never stood a chance. Evin Lewis and Kusal Perera are the key batters in the top 3. Perera got off to a flying start with 20 off 9 balls but couldn’t convert it into something bigger and more impactful.
The middle and lower-middle order features some big-hitting batters who’ve made a name for themselves on the big stage and in many T20 leagues around the world.
Donovan Ferreira comes in at number 4 followed by the Pakistani legend Asif Ali who’s known for his big finishes. The skipper and the only other batter apart from Yuvraj Singh to hit 6 sixes in an over, Kieron Pollard is in the finisher’s role at number 6 in this batting order.
The Strikers should consider promoting Sunil Narine from number 7 to the opener’s position as a pinch hitter. T20 franchises like KKR and Trinbago Knight Riders have benefitted a great deal from that strategy.
The bowling attack features some experienced players along with the up-and-rising stars of T20 cricket. Mohammad Amir and Doug Bracewell will be leading the pace attack while Sunil Narine and Akeal Hossein are the key spin bowlers in the side.
Matheesha Pathirana, the right-arm fast bowler from Sri Lanka, groomed by Captain Cool, MSD in IPL will be one to watch out for with his ability to deliver yorkers at the death.

The weather will be partly cloudy in Abu Dhabi around the start of the match with a high of 30 degrees Celsius but it is likely to clear out as the match progresses without any rain interruptions.

The pitch is great for batting and only in a scenario where the batters find themselves under pressure and give in, will they finish with a less competitive total. The average 1st innings score in the last 5 T10 League matches is 114 runs. However, for a match-winning total, we reckon the team batting first will need 130+ on the board.
Though one of the teams lost while bowling first and the other lost while batting first, we would say having a bowl first would be an ideal choice for both sides. They’ve got brilliant bowlers who can test the opposition’s batting lineup and give their side an upper hand. Teams bowling first have won 4 of the 5 matches played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium so far in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Like every other T10 League match, this too shall be a closely fought encounter between two well-matched teams featuring some of the biggest hitters of the white ball. Toss can play a crucial role in this game and the chasing team would have an advantage in this match. Though the Strikers lost badly in their opening game, the defending champions have a stronger overall side and should be able to bounce back in this game with a win. New York Strikers will start as favorites in our match prediction.
