Let's start with the bad news. In spite of their number two batter hitting 66 runs and their number three batter making 47, only 13 more runs were added from the nine balls which came at the back of the innings once the second wicket fell in their last game. There were two golden ducks, one player ending on zero not out and some disappointing strike-rates for Comilla Victorians against Durdanto Dhaka.

Onto the good news. The Victorians took five wickets with the ball and came within three balls of pulling off an unlikely victory on Friday with Tanvir Islam particularly impressive. 

But ahead of this match, the key news is the arrival of Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed from Pakistan's tour of New Zealand and the pair will undoubtedly improve the side.

Fortune Barishal got a comfortable victory over Rangpur Riders in their opener but came unstuck against Khulna Tigers on Monday as they were beaten by 8 wickets with 12 balls remaining. That margin would make most observers assume that Barishal were on the back foot throughout the game but the truth is that the team management were very happy with their total of 187/4 when batting first!

Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah all batted at an impressive strike-rate in the middle order but quicker runs will be needed in this game. All eyes will be on the opening pair of Tamim Iqbal and Ibrahim Zadran to take more risks in this match.

An improvement with the ball is required across the board or maybe just a slightly more attacking line from Dunith Wellalage who has taken only one wicket but conceded just 34 runs from his eight overs in the tournament.
