The last game of group C of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be played between Himachal Pradesh and Manipur at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC, Mumbai on 5th December from 1:30 pm onwards. Both teams are already out of contention to play the knockouts. Himachal Pradesh is in the 6th place with two wins in six games while Manipur is in seventh with one win.

Himachal Pradesh played their last game against Haryana. Batting first, Himachal scored 152 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Wicket-keeper Mani Sharma scored a much-needed half-century. Kanwar Abhinay Singh took two wickets in return but couldn’t stop Haryana from winning the game by 7 wickets. This was Himachal’s second consecutive defeat.

Manipur finally ed their first win of the season after losing five games in a row. Batting first against Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur scored 119 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. K Priyojit Singh scored 36 runs while opening the innings. Pheiroijam Jotin and Bishworjit Konthoujam took three wickets each to help Manipur win the game by 20 runs.

This will be the first instance where both teams play a T20 against each other.

Himachal Pradesh Preview

Ankit Kalsi will open the innings with Ekant Sen. Kalsi has 96 runs in three games including a half-century. But Sen has scored just 23 runs in 5 games. Mayank Dagar will come at number three. He will be the player to watch out for. Dagar has scored 146 runs in 5 innings at a strike rate of 135.18. He is the only player from Himachal to score more than 100 runs this season. 

Mani Sharma will come in the middle with skipper Rishi Dhawan and Sumeet Verma. Sharma scored a half-century in the last game - the only game he played so far. Once again. Mayank Dagar will be the bowler to watch out for. He is their leading wicket-taker with seven wickets at an economy of 7.27. Arpit Guleria will lead the bowling attack with Kanwar Abhinay Singh. Guleria has claimed six wickets this season while Singh has two wickets in the last game he played.

He is their leading run scorer and the only player to have a half-century & more than a hundred runs. He will be the batter to watch out for. Sanatombaroy Laiphangbam will come at number three. 

Johnson Singh, Pheiroijam Jotin, and Chingakham Bidash will come in the middle. Singh has scored 154 runs in the last nine games at a strike rate of 110.79. Manipur has only three batters with strike rates above one hundred. This clearly shows the need for T20 skills in the batting department.
