Ireland Women Preview

After a string of WT20 games, Ireland Women are in action for a crucial set of WODI games. A valiant victory in the final WT20 match resulted in Ireland omen getting a draw in the WT20 series. However, the three-game WODI series will present an excellent opportunity to push for a first success in the 50-over version of the game against Sri Lanka Women.

Gaby Lewis was the star of the show in the two-game WT20 series after hitting 158 runs in her two innings. Overall, the batting line-up was quite a satisfactory performance for the team. The likes of Amy Hunter also came in with decent outcomes. Even though Hunter was disappointing in the final WT20 game against Sri Lanka, Lewis was able to put up 119 runs from just 75 balls.

The return of Chamari Athapaththu is a huge boost to the Sri Lanka squad. Athapaththu is the top scorer for Sri Lanka Women with 3006 and 43 runs to her credit. She stands tall among the current crop of players by a significant margin. After having failed in the chase of a 170+ total in the last WT20 game, Athapaththu will be able to add a sizeable strength to the batting line-up.
