After winning the first WT20 match with Ireland, it has been a period of big struggle for Sri Lanka in the last two games. Sri Lanka Women might have entered into the ODI series having never lost to Ireland Women in the history of the game, but a three-wicket defeat has put them on the verge of losing the series. It is a dramatic shift in fortunes for the two teams.
Ireland were set a modest target of 261 on a tricky pitch, but they were able to comfortably get to a victory and claim two championship points. This victory comes just days after the seven-run success over Sri Lanka in the second WT20I match. Sri Lanka have very little time to regroup but they have to do so quickly without any choice. Stormont in Belfast will once again host this game.

Ireland will have sky-high confidence after managing a first win over Sri Lanka Women in the ODI format while also managing to get a first 200+ chase in this format. Even though Ireland were frequently losing wickets in the chase, all-rounder Orla Prendergast had a huge impact on the game with 122 runs from her 107 balls. There was not a moment when Ireland let the slack and they were able to keep the required run rate within manageable levels.
Amy Hunter did not have a great T20 series but she was able to almost grab a half-century. Meanwhile, Sarah Forbes had given the team a decent start with 30 from her 46 balls. Ireland would have done well with the chase with more contribution from the lower order.
Apart from being exceptional with the bat, Prendergast had a tremendous impact with the ball after taking the crucial wicket of Chamari Athapaththu. She managed to return with figures of 3/25 from eight overs. Alana Dalzell and Arlene Kelly had better outings as well by picking up two wickets apiece.

Sri Lanka might have started the ODI series on a positive note thanks to a century from Vishmi Gunaratne in just 98 balls, but things quickly went downhill with the team steadily losing wickets. The defeat in the first of the three ODI matches was a big blow for Sri Lanka Women, who were always in danger of losing their unbeaten streak against Ireland Women during this series. However, the narrow loss has opened up the possibility of Sri Lanka suffering an embarrassing exit from the competition after having previously failed to capture the WT20 series.
Vishmi Gunaratne might have come up with three sixes and nine boundaries, but there was very little in the way of . Hasini Perera came up with 46 runs, as she tried to steady the ship to a great extent.
Kavisha Dilhari was a big factor in taking the game to the last few moments, as she chipped in with four crucial wickets. Even though Kavisha Dilhari had a relatively high economy number of 5.40, she was disciplined and made the most of favourable conditions. Sri Lanka have to bounce back from the WT20I defeat as well.

The game is expected to be played in cloudy conditions with maximum temperatures hitting only 19°C. There is a 20% probability of rain during the game. The pitch is expected to be quite neutral just as in the first ODI. One can expect scores of about 220 quite comfortably.
The Civil Service Cricket Club in Stormont had relatively low average numbers on the handful of ODO matches. After just setting the highest match aggregate total between Ireland and Sri Lanka, the venue might be set for a competitive game. The average score in the first and second innings is 219 and 226 respectively.
It was not a surprise that Ireland chose to bowl first after winning the toss in the first match. The pitch at Stormont in Belfast is favourable for bowlers. The team which wins the toss will once again be going to bowl first.
Ireland were exceptionally good in the win over Sri Lanka. Even when the top order failed to come up with a significant contribution, Ireland were able to make the most of home advantage. Sri Lanka have struggled in the last two games and it is difficult to see them winning this match.
Our prediction is for Ireland Women to win
