Lions Preview

Dominic Hendricks’s side needs to pull up its socks. It has been back-to-back losses for the team. They suffered a crushing defeat in the last game, going down by 10 wickets in the last game against Western Province. They are playing at home and Hendricks would like to take advantage of it in this game.  

Joshua Richards and Ryan Rickelton failed in the last game and the side will expect a good start from the pair in this contest. Wiaan Mulder made 96 out of the 128 runs in the last game and he must build partnerships in the middle order with Hendricks and Zubayr Hamza. The side will also need a good show down the order from Mitchell Van Buuren and Delano Potgieter.  

The bowling attack looked toothless in the last game and the side will need a good show from Tshepo Moreki and Mulder with the new ball. Bjorn Fortuin has a lot of experience and must do well with Delano Potgieter in the middle overs. The side will also expect a good show in the ing role from Nqaba Peter.

The side will look for a good start in this game from Saral Erwee and JJ Smuts, who missed out in the last game. Jason Smith scored a match-winning hundred and will look to build partnerships with Khaya Zondo and Grant Roelofsen. They have good hitters in the lower middle order and shall expect runs from Andile Phelukwayo and Tshepang Dithole.
