MI New York are in big trouble. Their big guns haven’t live up to the expectations. Rashid Khan looks in great touch. He can deliver wonders with the ball on this ground. 

In a lineup featuring Kieron Pollard and Tim David, it is Rashid Khan who’s the match-finisher. That tells everything about what’s wrong with MI New York this season.

Nicholas Pooran is another experienced batter in the middle order to watch out for. He scored 62 off 37 at number 3 against the Orcas in a successful run chase. The opening batters Ruben Clinton and Steven Taylor have failed to deliver good starts for MI New York.

Their consistent failures have dented the team’s overall batting returns. MI New York desperately need good partnerships at the top to set a good platform. Pollard and David can come in and play freely when they know there are enough runs on the board.

Washington Freedom Preview

Washington Freedom secured their third win as they humbled the Knight Riders in the last game. Netravalaker, Ferguson, and Maxwell played a big role in this win.

They continued their form as they delivered more wickets bowling out LAKR to just 129 runs. These three along with Rachin Ravindra and Marco Jansen make for a strong and lethal bowling attack. 

This is Washington’s biggest strength and on this wicket in Dallas, they will be even more effective. Batting is led by Head and Smith at the top and both are in fine touch.

However, Rachin Ravindra and Glenn Maxwell also need to step up and deliver to ensure that the team isn’t completely dependent on the openers to score runs.

Mukhtar Ahmed and Andries Gous are others in the middle and lower middle order expected to deliver effective knocks. The only vulnerability we can see in this side is the lack of exposure of their middle-order batters.

If Smith and Head are out cheaply while batting first, Washington might end up without a competitive total on the board.
