Namibia beat Canada by 10 wickets (D/L) method

Will the rain prevail again in this fourth T20I between Namibia and Canada?

  • The pitch in Windhoek was already bowler friendly before the poor weather of this week.
  • Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton hit the most boundaries in the second T20I.
  • Ruben Trumpelmann returned his second best T20I figures in Wednesday's game.

After three T20Is in this series, the rain has won two of the matches without a ball bowled with the other a low-scoring classic on Wedneday which was won by Namibia.

Therefore, it is only Canada who are yet to taste victory but with two games still to play, two wins for the tourists would see them emerge with a 2-1 series success.

The rain has not only prevented play in two of the three games, but will also have had an effect on the outfield and on the playing wicket. We expect the pitch will be bowler-friendly and the outfield may also be sluggish which will make run-scoring tough.

Conditions could yet see another washout, but if not, it's likely to be a tough afternoon for the batters on both sides.

Namibia Preview

Although Namibia have been struggling across all formats over recent months, they have already won a match in this series and knowledge of home conditions is likely to be useful again in this game which could well be a reduced overs affair once more.

With the bat, they could choose to shuffle their order with the likes of Nikolaas Davin, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton and JJ Smit in competition for places in the top four.

Gerhard Erasmus is the batter most likely to play a more traditional innings with keeper-batter Zane Green well equipped to take on the 'finisher' role at the end of the innings.

And after putting their feet up in two of the three games in the series, JJ Smit and Ruben Trumpelmann will be well refreshed as they look to build on their figures of 3/18 and 4/28 from Wednesday.

Namibia Predicted Playing XI:

JP Kotze, Nikolaas Davin, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Gerhard Erasmus (c), JJ Smit, Malan Kruger, Ruben Trumpelmann, Zane Green (wk), Handre Klazinge, Bernard Scholtz, Tangeni Lungameni

Namibia Actual Playing XI:

Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Malan Kruger, Gerhard Erasmus, Jonathan Smit, Jean-Pierre Kotze, Zane Green, Bernard Scholtz, Jack Brassell, Ruben Trumpelmann, Tangeni Lungameni, Niko Davin

Canada Preview

Canada are a strong and improving team across all formats and they will have been busy working in the gym after the two games were abandoned without a ball bowled this week.

Aaron Johnson struggled in his six balls at the crease earlier in the series but he is one of Canada's most consistent batters and we expect him to be a key wicket when Canada are batting.

Yuvraj Samra caught the eye in Wednesday's game, hitting three fours and three sixes in his 37 from 18 balls and cricket fans across the globe will be looking forward to seeing him take on this Namibia bowling attack once more.

With the ball, Akhil Kumar proved the toughest for Namibia's batters to face on Wednesday and he is our tip for their strongest bowler again in this fixture.

Canada Predicted Playing XI:

Aaron Johnson, Navneet Dhaliwal, Yuvraj Samra, Nicholas Kirton (c), Shreyas Movva (wk), Kanwarpal Tathgur, Dilon Heyliger, Saad Bin Zafar, Akhil Kumar, Shahid Ahmadzai, Kaleem Sana

Canada Actual Playing XI:

Aaron Johnson, Nicholas Kirton, Ravinderpal Singh, Ajayveer Singh, Dillon Heyliger, Harsh Thaker, Saad Bin Zafar, Kanwarpal Tathgur, Akhil Kumar, Kaleem Sana, Yuvraj Samra

Weather Conditions

Rain has been the most consistent player in this series so far and according to the forecast could well have a role once more on Saturday. The temperature is forecast to be in the mid-twenties but there is also a good chance of rain interrupting play in this T20I.

NAM vs CAN Pitch Report

There are always runs to be scored at Windhoek but it may be tougher than usual on this pitch which will allow movement for the bowlers and could have some inconsistent bounce. A par score is likely to be no higher than 150.

Toss: To Bowl

This pitch is likely to still have some moisture in it during the first innings of the game so we predict that both captains will want to bowl first if they win the toss ahead of the match.

We predict that this game will be a low-scoring close contest and it will come down to which of the batters is able to produce the match-winning innings. We expect Canada to come out on top and level the series.

We are backing Canada to win!
