Nepal have finally found a win in this tri-series after losing to both Namibia and the Netherlands. They were up against a strong Namibian side in their last match and they faced a very tough challenge while defending a 180-run target.
They didn’t have an ideal outing as they lost quick wickets in the first half of the innings. It was Aarif Sheikh and Kushal Malla in the lower middle order who led the comeback with a brilliant 85-run partnership for the 5th wicket.
This should boost their confidence going ahead. Rohit Paudel and Aasif Sheikh were among the top scorers in the top order in the previous outings while Dipendra Singh Airee was the key batsman in the middle order.
It is a great sign that Nepal have found two new match-winners in the middle and along with Gulshan Jha also looking in fine touch at number 4, we reckon Nepal should be a tough side to beat.
There are quite a few match-winners in this batting lineup and on their best day, they could take Nepal beyond 180-185 runs. However, it is the bowling that they will be concerned about.
