Aqib Ilyas has taken over the captaincy, and he will look to test his skills and decision-making abilities ahead of the big tournament. The side has enjoyed good form in recent games but was unlucky to have lost in the ACC Mens T20I Premier Cup 2024 final. A good show in this game will boost their confidence, and Ilyas expects a strong show from his players.  

They will need a good start in this game from Kashyap Prajapati and Naseem Khushi, as this pair has done well. They have an experienced middle order and would like to see partnerships between Zeeshan Maqsood, Aqib Ilyas, Khalid Kail, and Mehrah Khan. Pratik Athavale and Rafiullah are good finishers, and they will look to do well.

Assad Vala's side returns to the tournament after missing out on the last edition. After their good show during the recent Hong Kong T20I Tri-Series 2024, the side will be confident. The PNG skipper would use the momentum to improve their preparation for the big tournament. They have a poor record against Oman, and Vala will look to improve upon that in this contest.  

Lega Siaka and Tony Ura are key players for the team at the top, and they must deliver a good start for the team to win. Hila Vare, Hiri Hiri, Charles Amini, and Norman Vanua must strengthen their preparations well in the middle order.
