Pretoria Capitals are hoping for a turnaround after two losses on the bounce, as they prepare for their next challenge. They couldn’t have picked a worse time or opponent to bring their campaign back on track, as they get ready to face off table-toppers Durban’s Super Giants, who’re on a high after clinching 3 wins in 3 matches.
For DSG, they’ve beaten three different opponents so far, and they’ll be itching to have a go at Pretoria Capitals and make it four out of four to infuse their already successful campaign with more momentum. Stopping a form team like the Super Giants will be no easy task for the Capitals, who’re struggling to put in a complete performance on the field with bat and ball.
As the only team to not open their on the points table, they cannot afford to lose another contest if they want to keep their hopes of qualification alive.

Nothing seems to be going right for Pretoria Capitals this season. They finished the group stages as table toppers last year and ended up being the runner up in the finals. They’re nowhere close to playing like one, and are in deep trouble with 2 losses in a row. They are sitting at the bottom of the table and cannot afford to drop another match, but they are scheduled to play Durban Super Giants, who are in red-hot form after a couple of massive victories.
They played Paarl Royals both at home and away, and came up short despite coming agonizingly close to winning in the second. Their opening pair from England haven’t quite been able to get their team off to a brisk start, leaving the middle order with too much to do. But, unfortunately for the Capitals, they have not done much so far. Among capped international players only Rilee Rossouw and James Neesham are in good touch, and the rest of them including former Protea player Colin Ingram are literally struggling with the bat. On the bowling front, they have a lot of work to do.
They knocked over the Paarl Royals top order before they could inflict some serious damage on both occasions, but they couldn’t keep the pressure sustained on the middle order, allowing them to get away and play their shots freely. Adil Rashid hasn’t had much impact on both the games, and would be hoping to turn the tables in this contest.

Durban’s Super Giants would be happy and proud of the manner in which they’ve kicked off this year’s SA20. Having failed to make it to the knockout stages last season, they’ve started off their campaign with a bang, picking up wins against three different oppositions. What stands out though is their application to different surfaces.
.Their first match at home was a run-fest, where they let MI Cape Town to score over 200 but kept up with the asking rate and produced a 11-run in a rain-curtailed chase. Their other match at Durban against Joburg Super Kings was on a tricky surface where no batsman from either team found run scoring easy except Heinrich Klaasen who took time to get his eye in and then went hard swinging in the back end of his innings. His knock proved to be the difference in a low scoring match where the ball dominated the bat for a change. They plundered 225 runs against reigning champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape and ended up winning that encounter comfortably by more than 30 runs.
Nicholas Pooran’s early exit could hurt them a tad, but they’ll be pleased with how the other batsmen are going though and have reinforcements in place. Their bowling unit has been pretty darn effective, with all bowlers amongst the wickets. With a team that can perform at any surface and under any condition, Durban’s Super Giants will be pretty hard to stop in this tournament.

The pitch at Centurion tends to be great for batting, with four scores above 210 last season. The forecast is for a cloudy evening with some thunderstorms late in the afternoon but it should clear in time and hopefully we will have a cracker of a game without any interruption by the weather gods.
Supersport Park, Centurion will be hosting its second match of the season. The home team almost pulled off a miracle chase, but came up short against Paarl Royals last week. It’s still early days for SA20, but the hosts have a good track record, winning 4 out of 6 games here so far.
Teams generally chose to win toss and bat first here. Scoring over 200 batting first gives a team an enormous advantage here, so whichever teams ends up winning the toss on Thursday will most likely look to choose to have a bat first and put a huge total on board.
The Capitals dismantled the Super Giants for just 80 runs away from home and chased down the total with over 12 overs to spare. Durban's Super Giants returned the favour at Centurion, winning by a mammoth margin of 151 runs. Both teams have a good away record against each other, and by that logic, the Super Giants are going to run away with this.
We are backing Durban's Super Giants as the winners of this contest.
