St Kitts and Nevis Patriots will face Jamaica Tallawahs in their 3rd game of the season as L moves to St Kitts. Rain has played spoil sport for the most part this season.

Of the 6 matches so far, only 2 had a result while the remaining were washed out due to rain. The respective last matches of SNP and JT were abandoned without a ball being bowled.

While JT have played at least one match, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have had only 3 overs of game time.

The game was called off due to rain after they picked 1 for 19 in 3 Overs while bowling first. Their next match was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

A strong bowling attack of SNP will pose a tough challenge to the JT middle order that struggled to get going in their opening match. Skipper Brandon King will be key to the JT lineup while Shamarh Brooks and Amir Jangoo will be tested in the middle order.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Preview

Evin Lewis will be leading the Patriots this season and has a great pace attack to play with.

Sheldon Cottrell is ed by the young and promising Blessing Muzarabani and the right-arm fast Oshane Thomas. In addition, they’ve also got Corbin Bosch and Dominic Drakes to strengthen the bowling attack.

Patriots had a good start against TKR but it still needs to be seen how well the bowlers deliver at the death. The average 1st innings score at Warner Park in St Kitts indicates that the surface here is good for batting.

In that case, Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher should get the Patriots off to a flying start at the top. Moreover, SNP also included Ambati Rayudu in the playing XI in their last game. He adds even greater firepower in the middle order.

Further down there is Sherfane Rutherford, known for his big-hitting skills but also his ability to build partnerships in the middle. SNP have a solid top 4 and with all-rounder George Linde lower down the order, they can hope for a good finish as well.

George Linde will also play a key role with the ball given he was the only spinner they included in the XI in the last game.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Predicted Playing XI:

Evin Lewis (c), Andre Fletcher (wk), Ambati Rayudu, Sherfane Rutherford, Joshua Da Silva, George Linde, Corbin Bosch, Dominic Drakes, Sheldon Cottrell, Oshane Thomas, Blessing Muzarabani

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Actual Playing XI:

George Linde, Evin Lewis, Dominic Drakes, Joshua Da Silva, Sheldon Cottrell, Sherfane Rutherford, Andre Fletcher, Corbin Bosch, Oshane Thomas, Ambati Rayudu, Blessing Muzarabani

Jamaica Tallawahs Preview

Jamaica Tallawahs will be disappointed that their last match was abandoned without a ball being bowled. They needed to give their batters another chance at finding their rhythm before the L moved to St Kitts.

It was the skipper at the top who led the Tallawahs to a competitive 1st innings score in their opening game with his 81 off 53 balls inning. Kirk McKenzie also looked promising with his start but couldn’t convert it into a bigger score.

After a decent powerplay, Jamaica Tallawahs struggled a bit in the middle overs losing Shamarh Brooks and Amir Jangoo in consecutive overs.

Though there was a 77-run stand for the 4th wicket, it was all Brandon King as Raymon Reifer only contributed 16 off 18 balls in that partnership. Had it not been for King, Tallawahs would have been reeling at a par score.

There are some promising players in the lower order like Fabian Allen, Imad Wasim, and Chris Green. This depth in the lineup allows for a big finish and also lets the top-order batters adopt a more attacking approach to the game.

These three lower-order batters will also be crucial with the ball in the spin department. Imad Wasim is a consistent bowler in franchise cricket and can find breakthroughs when needed. Mohammad Amir and Salman Irshad will be leading the pace attack for JT.

Jamaica Tallawahs Predicted Playing XI:

Brandon King (c), Amir Jangoo (wk), Fabian Allen, Imad Wasim, Shamarh Brooks, Raymon Reifer, Kirk McKenzie, Salman Irshad, Mohammad Amir, Chris Green, Nicholson Gordon

Jamaica Tallawahs Actual Playing XI:

Amir Jangoo, Kirk McKenzie, Brandon King, Imad Wasim, Fabian Allen, Christopher Green, Mohammad Amir, Nicholson Gordon, Shamarh Brooks, Raymon Reifer, Salman Irshad

Weather Conditions

It is a batting-friendly pitch at Warner Park that allows for big scores in both innings. While the record for the highest total here belongs to JT (255), the home team has also been prolific as they once chased down 242 runs with 7 balls to spare. The weather will be partly cloudy with a high of 30 degrees Celsius on the match day.

Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts & Nevis will host match number 7 to 12 of the Caribbean Premier League 2023. The average 1st innings score here is 164 runs but considering how most chasing teams have won here, we reckon the team batting first would need something over 180-185 runs to be in the contest.

Toss: To Bowl

Teams bowling first at this venue have won 40 of the 74 domestic T20s. The pitch has favored chasing in the past and both teams with their batting strengths will opt to bowl first in this match.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have played for just 3 overs so far and that doesn’t give us a lot to assess their preparation or form. While we see a struggling picture of the JT middle order, it could have been just one odd day for the Tallawahs. Overall, there doesn’t seem a lot to indicate either team having a real advantage or upper hand in this contest. It can all come down to toss and the team opting to bowl first would start with an advantage.

However, with a solid pace attack and a strong top 4, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots find a slight edge in our match prediction and will start as favorites.
