The new season of the Sheffield Shield has started to warm up, and teams are looking to get wins under their belt. This is a top-of-the-table encounter and both teams will look to get the better of each other.

Western Australia have started the tournament on a good note and will look to continue this momentum for the rest of the tournament as well. They are currently placed 3rd on the points table and will look to go on top of the table.

South Australia had quite a memorable season last time out and will want to make sure they are the opens at the top, unlike last year. They have had a really good start this season and will want to capitalize on the same.

Western Australia Preview

There is not much difference with the Western Australia squad as they are the defending champions. They have started off in magnificent fashion, as they are currently placed 3rd in the points table with 2 wins in 4 games. They will however want to make sure they do not replicate the performance in the last game.

Western Australia lost the toss and was put to bat first.  They were extremely awful with the bat as they managed to score just 141 in the first innings, followed by 136 in the second innings. The middle order collapsed in both innings and will hope this does not happen again.

The bowling department tried extremely hard in the first innings, as they managed to bowl out the opposition for 276 runs. But with the batting collapsing in the 2nd innings, the opposition set a target of 4 runs in the second innings.

Key Players: Charles Stobo, Cameron Bancroft, Hilton Cartwright, Ashton Turner

WAC vs SAC Pitch Report

Western Australia Cricket Association Ground, also known as the “W.A.C.A” is located in Perth, Australia and has a capacity of 22,000.

The pitch is a batsman-friendly wicket and has a history of staying good through the 4 innings. Batting in the 4th innings gets a bit tough, teams usually bat first after winning the toss.

Toss: To Bat

Both teams seem to be quite strong while batting and will want to take advantage of the conditions and pile up the runs. The history of the ground would suggest, that the team who wins the toss should have a bat first.

Both the teams have had a wonderful start to the season, and will want to continue the form for the rest of the tournament, Western Australia will look to regroup after the loss in the last game and comeback stronger in the game. South Australia on the other hand will be on cloud 9, as they were magnificent in their win in the last game.

We predict that Western Australia will beat South Australia.
