WOR vs LEI Live Prediction

2024-07-11 23:43:14

Leicestershire to score over 72.5 runs in the first 10 overs @ 1.80 (Stake.com)

Leicestershire were in a spot of bother early in the innings losing two wickets, but they have kept up with the scoring rate (Current rate - 7.50), we back them to score over 72.5 runs in the first 10 overs.

2024-07-11 22:51:56

Worcestershire to score over 178.5 runs in 20 overs @ 1.85 (Stake.com)

The middle order duo of Ethan Brookes and Adam Hose laid the foundation for a perfect finish for Worcestershire and with both the batters well set and six overs to go, if they continue to score at the same rate (9 runs per over) then they will reach the par score (183 runs & more).

2024-07-11 22:49:50

Worcestershire to score over 129.5 runs in 15 overs @ 1.90 (Stake.com)

Worcestershire are scoring at 8.64 runs per over at the moment and after a sedate start they have picked up the scoring rate in the last couple of overs, looking at the way both the batters out in the middle are striking, we predict Worcestershire to score over 129.5 runs in 15 overs.

The Vitality T20 Blast has reached its final stages, yet none of the teams are qualified for the knock-out games. After a series of losing games, Worcestershire will play against the Leicestershire Rapids at New Road, Worcester on 10th July from 10 pm onwards. The foxes need to win this game to keep their semifinal hopes alive while it will be a game of pride for the Rapids who are currently sinking at the bottom of the table.

In the last game, Worcestershire faced second-placed Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester. Batting first, the Rapids scored 181 for the loss of 4 wickets. Josh Cobb played an innings of 74 off 53 balls followed by quick 45 runs from Adam Hose. Matthew Waite took 3 wickets for 19 in return and almost clinched the game for Worcestershire. But Luke Wood hit the last ball for a six to hand over a loss to the Rapids by 2 wickets.

Leicestershire suffered a defeat at the hands of Derbyshire in their last game. Batting first, the Foxes scored 184 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Wicket-keeper Ben Cox scored 61 off 30 in the bottom with 4 fours and as many sixes. The Foxes started on a high by taking the first three wickets for 52 runs. But Wayne Madsen and Samit Patel added a quick 80 to the tally to beat Leicestershire by 4 wickets.

Both teams played against each other this season at Grace Road, Leicester on 9th July. In a nail-biting finish, Leicestershire scored 176 for the loss of 8 wickets. Foxes’ Rishi Patel scored 48 runs whereas Nathan Smith and Adam Finch took 3 wickets each. The Rapids’ skipper Brett D’Oliveira and Matthew Waite started the chase with 90 runs partnership in the first 9 overs. But Rehan Ahmed and Scott Currie bowled exceptionally well to win the game by 4 runs.

Worcestershire Preview

Nothing is going well with Worcestershire as they have lost their last 7 games. Both batting and bowling units are at fault here. Skipper Brett D’Oliveira and Matthew Waite will open the innings for the Rapids. D’Oliveira has 165 runs in 8 games at a strike rate of 113. Waite averages just 16.14 in the same innings. Josh Cobb at number three has performed a little better than his teammates with 192 runs at a strike rate of 123.87.

Adam Hose will come in the middle with Gareth Roderick and Ethan Brooks. Hose is their leading run-scorer with 219 runs at a strike rate of 126.58. Surprisingly he hasn’t ed the half-century mark so far. Roderick who has a strike rate of 148 hasn’t played an impactful innings so far. It will be interesting to see if the Rapids play Kashif Ali in the squad. In three games he has 69 runs with the highest strike rate in the squad. The batting debacle is clearly seen in the Rapids camp as they have managed to score just three half-centuries in 10 games this season.

Tom Taylor will lead the bowling unit with Matthew Waite and Adam Finch. Taylor has 12 wickets in 10 games at an economy above 9. On the other hand, Finch has 9 wickets in 9 games. The issue with the Rapids bowling unit is that none of them have managed to have an economy below 6.

Key Players: Adam Hose, James Cobb, Tom Taylor.

Worcestershire Predicted Playing XI:

Brett DOliveira (c), Kashif Ali, Josh Cobb, Adam Hose, Ethan Brookes, Gareth Roderick (wk), Ed Pollock, Matthew Waite, Tom Taylor, Hayden Walsh, Harry Darley.

Leicestershire Preview

Lancashire hasn’t seen a victory in the last three games. They tied one with Northamptonshire while losing the last against Derbyshire. Skipper Rishi Patel will start the innings with Soloman Budinger. Patel has scored 400 runs this season at a strike rate of 149.81. No other batter has come close when it comes to scoring runs as their skipper. Budinger is going through a poor form with 109 runs in 7 innings so far.

It is still unclear if Peter Handscomb will be back in the next game. He is second in the run-scoring table for the Foxes with 213 runs. Jimmy Neesham and Ben Cox will be lethal in the middle for the Foxes. Though Neesham has played just two games, Cox has 174 runs in 8 innings at a strike rate of 153. He scored 61 off 30 in the last game.

Lewis Goldsworthy, Josh Hull, and Scott Currie will lead the bowling unit. The trio has taken 38 wickets so far with Currie leading the camp having 14 wickets at an economy of 7.55. Just like Worcestershire none of them have an economy of less than 6.

Key Players: Rishi Patel, Ben Cox, Lewis Goldsworthy.

Leicestershire Predicted Playing XI:

Rishi Patel (c), Soloman Budinger, Paul Stirling, Louis Kimber, James Neesham, Ben Cox (wk), Ben Mike, Tom Scriven, Lewis Goldsworthy, Samuel Berridge Wood, Josh Hull.

The 92nd match of the Vitality Blast will be played at New Road, Worcester on 10th July from 10 pm onwards. The venue has a capacity of 4500 spectators. It has hosted 7 Tests, 11 ODIs & a T20I.

Toss: To Bowl

The only T20I favored the team bowling first. But this season the battle has been 50-50 with team either defending or chasing the target. In 4 games, 2 wins each for the teams batting first or second. But the defense has shown some nail-biting finishes. The team winning the toss should bowl first here.

The Worcestershire Rapids are low in confidence after losing seven games in a row. Leicestershire have a high chance of winning the game with at least the batting unit performing well compared to the hosts.

We predict that Leicestershire will defeat Worcestershire.
