Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals - Previous Encounter
The previous meeting between the two teams took place in the 1st week of the league stage at the Barsapara Stadium. It was a comfortable win for Kolkata Knight Riders as they completed the chase comfortably. However, the onus of the win goes to the bowling unit of KKR, who dominated the game from the start.
Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision gave them a strategic advantage and helped them to control the game from the start. Vaibhav Arora, Harshit Rana, Moeen Ali, and Varun Chakaravarthy picked up 2 wickets each at an economy of 8.25, 9, 5.75, and 4.25, respectively.
Rajasthan Royals’ batting unit was vulnerable and failed to perform at their best. Yashasvi Jaiswal (29 off 24) and Riyan Parag (25 off 15) were the key batters at the top, and Dhruv Jurel was the leading run-scorer for the team with 33 off 28 balls at a strike rate of 117.86.
The top order of Kolkata Knight Riders was enough to complete the chase for the team. Moeen Ali was gone early, but Quinton de Kock led the team and scored a fabulous 97 off 61 balls at a strike rate of 159.02. Ajinkya Rahane (18 off 15) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (22 off 17) were his partners at different levels.
Rajasthan Royals again struggled with their bowling unit. Only Wanindu Hasaranga was able to pick a single wicket at an economy of 11.33, and the rest of the bowlers were complete failures.
