Welcome to match six of the 2025 ILT20 which sees Abu Dhabi Knight Riders take on Sharjah Warriors at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi. This could well be another close contest, something which has been a real feature of the tournament so far with neither batting line-ups or bowling attacks getting on top of the other for long periods!
We are still at the early stage of this edition of the ILT20 and most teams are still seeing some of their players arrive from other tournaments whilst working out the best match-ups, batting line-ups as well as getting to grips with the different surfaces.
It could well be a case of whichever team gets most comfortable playing together and gets the most out of the surfaces over the next couple of days who will roar into the lead.
Will it be Abu Dhabi Knight Riders or Sharjah Warriors who come out on top? It should be quite the clash!

It was a fine knock from Dan Lawrence of Desert Vipers which stopped Abu Dhabi Knight Riders begin this campaign with a win and the team management will be looking for small improvements across the team in this game against the Warriors.
With the bat, Phil Salt has brought the same form which we have seen over recent years into this tournament and kicked off with an impressive 71 not out from 49 balls against the Vipers. Joe Clarke has struggled for game time in the Big Bash League this season and he looked rusty in match two so will need a score this time around if he is to retain his place.
Only Andre Russell, Shahid Bhutta and skipper Sunil Narine picked up a wicket each in their opening game but former England international David Willey impressed with his variations and he could well be a threat once again in this match.
Salt has scored 71 runs in 49 balls to kickstart his ILT20 campaign. He has been in sublime form over the last six months, racking up runs with consistency. At Abu Dhabi, Salt averages 37 runs per match, considering his recent form, we back Salt to play another match winning knock and score over 21 runs in today's match against the Warriors.

It was Tom Kohler-Core who proved the difference against Gulf Giants with the top order batter who has been around the fringes of England's white ball teams hitting 83 not out from 56 balls which included two from the last ball to win the game!
He was well ed by Rohan Mustafa who hit 45 runs from 33 balls in the win over the Giants but the likes of Hason Roy and Johnson Charles both have the game and experience to be match winners for this side as well. Further down the order, the likes of Keemo Paul and Adil Rashid, along with Tim Southee can also give the ball a good crack.
Southee, now freed from the commitments of Test cricket, will be able to run in and give 100% once again across his four overs. He took 3/30 against Gulf Giants and made an excellent new-ball pair alongside his New Zealand colleague Adam Milne.
Roy was dismissed for a two-ball duck in his last match. Despite coming into the tournament on the back of some good performances in the L, the right-hander failed to get going. However, he does average 26 in T20 matches played at Abu Dhabi. We back Roy to bounce back and have a good outing with the bat.

Around 180 seems to be the par score at this venue so far in the tournament but do not be surprised if the bowling team keep chipping away with wickets while the opposition goes along at a good rate. There is pace and movement off the straight at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.
Sharjah Warriors are 1-0 in coin tosses, while Abu Knight Riders are 0-1 in coin tosses this season. In head to head matches both teams have won one toss each. For today's match we back the home team Abu Dhabi Knight Riders to win the coin toss.
In the two ILT20 matches played at Abu Dhabi this season, the total scores were 334 and 348 runs. The Abu Dhabi pitch offers a balanced track where scoring becomes easier under lights. The average score per innings in ILT20 matches at Abu Dhabi ranges around 165-175 runs. We predict a high-scoring affair with the total match score exceeding 329 runs.
We have already seen one team win by batting first at the Zayed Cricket Stadium as well as a side getting over the line after bowling first. We think both teams will want to post a score and then try and defend it so are predicting the captains will want to bat first.
Although Sharjah Warriors began the tournament with a win and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders currently sit bottom of the table, we think the tables may well be turned in this match! The Knight Riders have plenty of experience in their bowling ranks as well as the powerful Phil Salt at the top of the order so we have picked them to come out on top on Wednesday evening in Abu Dhabi.
We are backing Abu Dhabi Knight Riders to win this match!
