Adelaide Strikers Women began their T20 Spring Challenge campaign with a win over Perth Scorchers. They will be up against Hobart Hurricanes at the same venue that hosted two matches on the opening day.
Hobart Hurricanes scored 169 batting first and lost by 5 wickets while ADS Women successfully defended 150 runs. It will be an exciting contest between the two teams that have seen some new faces taking up new roles.
Katie Mack is leading the Strikers as the captain and was quite impressive as the new opening batsman for the team. Hurricanes have found some pretty solid batters in the middle and lower middle order.
Heather Graham and Tabatha Saville are the key finishers in this side and will be the ones to watch out for. In the Strikers squad, the young guns, Eleanor Larosa and Maggie Clark stepped up with the ball and delivered match-winning spells.

The Strikers should be delighted with their win. They could only post a par score of 150 runs after they were put to bat first. However, the 18-year-old batting all-rounder Eleanor Larosa delivered figures of 4 for 26 runs turning the game on its head.
She was ed by the 17-year-old Maggie Clark who bowled economically and picked up 2 wickets as ADS Women restricted the Scorchers to 135 for 9. Though 4 of their top 5 batters scored 30+, Adelaide Strikers lacked a big knock from one of their key players.
Paris Hall and Annie O Neil could not deliver runs at a faster rate and that held the Strikers back from reaching a more competitive total. These two middle-order batters will be crucial for a big finish.
Ellie Johnston and Katie Mack are a promising opening duo but need to deliver better. The opposition is coming into this game on the back of a loss and the Strikers should look to put them on the backfoot early on with a strong opening partnership.
Amanda-Jade Wellington and Anesu Mushangwe are other key bowlers in this side who played a crucial role during the last WBBL. ADS Women have a strong overall squad and should be able to put the Hurricanes on the backfoot.
The captain of the Adelaide Strikers, Katie Mack scored 37 runs in the last match against the Scorchers. Mack has scored 220 runs in 15 matches against the Hurricanes and at Adelaide she has scored 720 runs in 26 matches averaging 42.40. Given her recent form and record at Adelaide, we back Mack to score over 22.5 runs in today's fixture.

Hobart Hurricanes delivered a good batting effort after being put to bat first. Heather Graham and Tabatha Saville were particularly impressive as the finishers in the lower middle order.
However, skipper Elyse Villani will be concerned with her bowlers’ ability to deliver breakthroughs after they failed to defend a good score. Bowling all-rounders Nicola Carey and Hayley Silver-Homes were the only bowlers with decent economies who also delivered crucial breakthroughs.
Right-arm off-break bowlers Molly Strano and Lauren Smith were quite expensive in their spell. These two are among the experienced players in this bowling attack. That is the big positive for Hobart Hurricanes. Most of their bowlers are quite experienced and hence, expected to deliver much better.
In the batting department too, HBH Women pack an experienced lineup with the likes of Nicola Carey, Elyse Villani, and Heather Graham. Tabatha Saville is an up-and-coming player who’s made a huge mark with her aggressive batting approach.
Overall, Hobart Hurricanes look stronger on paper than their opposition. However, they must find a way to deliver a consolidated team effort to get the upper hand on the Strikers and clinch their first win.
Villani scored 25 runs against the Renegades, smashing three fours and striking at 138.88. She is one of the top batters who can score runs quickly and averages 44.20 at Adelaide. Against the Strikers women, she has scored 405 runs in 16 matches and averages over 25.

There will be cloudy skies in Adelaide on the matchday with a high of 24 degrees Celsius but no predictions for rain. We expect an uninterrupted game where the bowlers could have the upper hand with the weather around.
It is a balanced wicket that offers an equal contest between bat and ball. The average 1st innings score in the last 10 matches is 150 runs at this venue. However, even a 169-run total wasn’t enough for HBH Women as they lost by 5 wickets against the Renegades in the last match here. We expect bowlers to dominate this match and something around 165-170 should be a match-winning total in this game.
There is no clear advantage to either batting or bowling first on this ground. Teams batting first have won 5 of the last 10 T20s played at the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide. Though the Hurricanes lost while defending a good total in the last match, the Strikers would surely look to bat first once again.
It should be a close contest between the two teams. There are quality bowlers in both squads and they should be expected to put the opposition batters on the backfoot. However, in of batting, one team has the upper hand with more experienced players in the side. Hobart Hurricanes will have a slight edge going into this match and start as favorites in our match prediction.
