Gujarat, on the other hand, lead the standings with 16 points from 11 matches and are all but certain to reach the playoffs. A loss here could put Delhi in a tight spot. Delhi Capitals are still in the race for the playoffs—six wins, four losses, sitting fifth at the moment. They opened strong this season, taking five wins from their first six, but it’s been a rough stretch since, with just one win in the last five games. At 12 points from 11 matches, they’re in a tight spot now. Another slip-up could really hurt their chances, so this one’s got added pressure.
In some good news for the franchise, however, overseas stars Faf du Plessis and Tristan Stubbs (available until the league stage ends) are set to the team before the next game. This is a much-needed boost to the side that's in desperate need a win to stay afloat.
The team will also be counting on KL Rahul to continue his great form. He’s been calm but assertive—381 runs from nine innings at a strike rate of 142.16. Abishek Porel has done well at the top too, piling up 265 runs in 11 games with a strike rate of 150.
Axar Patel has stepped in when needed, especially during wobbling middle overs, adding runs that helped settle things. He, along with Stubb, will be crucial from overs 10-20. Ashutosh Sharma has chipped in late, hitting quick runs to keep the innings moving when the pressure’s been on.
Mitchell Starc is out for the remainder of IPL 2025, which leaves DC without a proper spearhead in their pace lineup. That puts the spotlight on Dushmantha Chameera and Mukesh Kumar, though neither has been rock-solid. Kuldeep Yadav has kept things tight through the middle overs, with 12 wickets and an economy rate of 6.74.
Vipraj Nigam has nine wickets under his belt, but he’s leaked runs too, going at 9.48. Axar’s controlled left-arm spin could be handy again, especially on these kinds of pitches.
To bolster their bowling, Delhi have brought in Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman to fill in for Jake Fraser-McGurk. The Bangladesh Cricket Board has confirmed that Mustafizur will play in Bangladesh's opening T20I against UAE in Sharjah this Saturday, before flying to India the following day. It’s still unclear if he’ll be ready in time for DC’s match on Sunday, May 18.
Karun Nair has scored 108 runs in 4 matches at Delhi this season and is averaging 27. After a good start to the season, Nair hasn't been consistent enough, but the two week is a huge boost for him to regather and reset for the backend of the tournament. We back Nair to come good in today's match and score over 21 runs.

Gujarat Titans have been one of the steadiest sides in IPL 2025, collecting 16 points from 11 games to sit at the top of the table. With a playoff spot nearly in the bag, they’ll be aiming to lock in a top-two finish to get two chances at making the final.
While the one-week suspension caused overseas player issues for several teams, Gujarat haven’t had much to worry about. Jos Buttler and Gerald Coetzee were the only ones who left India after the pause, and both are expected back before the next game. Rashid Khan, Sherfane Rutherford, Kagiso Rabada, and Karim Janat stayed back with the team during the break.
GT look balanced across departments, and both units are firing smoothly. At the top, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler have been piling on the runs, each going past 500 for the season. The form of this trio has been a huge factor in Gujarat’s dominance, and there’s no doubt they’ll be central again.
In the middle, Rutherford has quietly put together 229 runs in eight knocks at a strike rate of 159. Rahul Tewatia, as usual, has chipped in during the final stretch of innings with his handy cameos.
The bowlers have kept their end of the bargain, too. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna have taken 35 wickets between them, and Sai Kishore has picked up 14 while maintaining control with an economy of 8.37. In a further boost to the team, Kagiso Rabada is all set to be back for GT for the remaining league games. The South African speedster's presence will further bolster an already strong bowling unit. Rashid Khan is also beginning to find his rhythm again. If the pitch suits them, this bowling unit could make an impact once more.
Jos Buttler has scored 500 runs in 11 matches and averages 71.42. The last time he played against Delhi Capitals, Buttler remained unbeaten on 97 runs earlier in the season. At Delhi, Buttler has scored 253 runs in 5 matches, averaging 50.60.
"Mr. Consistent" of IPL 2025, Sai Sudharsan has scored 509 runs in 11 matches this season, averaging 46.27. He is in sublime form and has scored over 30 runs in 9 of the 11 matches played. Given his current form and consistency, we back Sai Sudharsan to score over 30 runs against the Capitals.

The surface at Arun Jaitley Stadium is generally flat and settles well once the lights come on. It’s a ground where batters can trust the bounce and get good reward for timing, especially with shots played square. Spinners may find a bit of help later in the game, but it’s usually nothing major, so expect the bat to have the upper hand.
Delhi's weather will be warm and sticky, but there’s no rain in the forecast.

We predict the home team, Delhi Capitals to win the coin toss in match 60 of Tata IPL 2025.
Three of the four matches played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in IPL 2025 have been won by the team batting first. Going by these numbers, it's clear that batting first is advantageous on this venue.
The IPL is now in its final stretch, and every match could tip the balance in some team's favor. Delhi Capitals are in must-win territory—another loss could seriously damage their playoff hopes. Starc missing out is a big setback and weakens their bowling options. They've been off their game recently, and facing a confident Gujarat Titans side, who’ve looked dominant all season, won't make things any easier. Delhi's batting lineup will need to rise to the occasion, because if they don’t deliver, Gujarat are well-placed to take this one.
Back Gujarat Titans as the winners of this match.
