Essex Preview

There is no doubt who was Essex's top performer last year as Australian Daniel Sams topped not only their run scorers list but also the wicket takers list. We may be 12 months on but we still expect him to be one of their top players in both disciplines with captain and spinner Simon Harmer likely to chip in with his fair share of wickets.

With the bat, the Allison brothers are said to be 'ones to watch' and we can expect to see both of them bat with freedom and to strike the ball cleanly in Bristol.
