India will take on Afghanistan in the 3rd and final T20I of the series at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. On a high-scoring venue where IPL teams have managed to score 200 runs with ease, Afghanistan will face a tough challenge.
Their bowlers failed to put the opposition under pressure in both games so far and now coming to Bengaluru, a small ground and a batting-friendly pitch will make things only harder for the visitors.
India have Virat Kohli back in the side and he looked in great touch as he made his comeback in T20Is. Shivam Dube has been a match-winner for India with back-to-back fifties and will be another key player to watch out for.
Afghanistan also have a deep batting lineup with Najibullah and Karim Janat at 6 and 7 followed by Mujeeb Ur Rahman who showed his batting abilities in the last game.
However, it is their bowlers who have always struggled against India in T20Is and will need to be a lot more accurate with their plans.

Rohit Sharma, the skipper has scored two ducks in a row and will be eager to get some runs under his belt in the last match of this series. Though it was some bad calling from Shubman Gill that resulted in Rohit being runout in the first T20I, in the second he was out bowled by Fazalhaq Farooqi on the first ball.
However, his opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who replaced Gill, played an impressive knock of 68 runs off 34 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes. India have decided to go with Jitesh Sharma and Rinku Singh in the lower middle order as their designated finishers.
Axar Patel has also found a place in the XI and though he hasn’t batted yet, he’s picked 4 wickets so far at an economy of 5 r.p.o. He’s been the only consistent bowler for India so far along with Shivam Dube who’s picked a wicket both games.
India have gone with Arshdeep Singh and Mukesh Kumar in the pace department for this series and the two seem to find wickets mostly in the death overs.
But with Axar bowling the middle-over India can try and control the flow of runs and at the death, the two pacers would come in and clean up the well-set batters. And that’s working well for India so far.

Afghanistan improved their batting returns in the second match but the total wasn’t enough for this power-packed Indian batting lineup. Virat Kohli seems to enjoy batting against Afghanistan bowlers and though he didn’t score big, he surely made quick runs putting Afghans on the backfoot.
He will be the number 1 challenge for Afghanistan on this ground. Ibrahim Zadran needs to come up with a strategy to get Kohli out early in the innings. India’s top 4 feature two senior players who’re among the best in the world along with two up-and-coming batsmen who are in great form.
Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen ul Haq are the key bowlers for Afghanistan who can set the tone for the rest of the innings. A couple of early wickets in the powerplay for not more than 8 an over by these two and Afghans will have a chance to put the hosts on the backfoot.
The spinners, Mohammad Nabi and Noor Ahmed, two of the key wicket-takers in this side were quite expensive in their spells in the last match. Mujeeb Ur Rahman wasn’t any different either.
The good news is that Gulbadin Naib scored 57 off 35 balls after he replaced Azmatullah at number 3. An experienced bowling all-rounder, Naib didn’t bowl a single over in the last match but should be the skipper’s choice during the middle-overs in Bengaluru.
There are some quality batters in this lineup and they’ve got the potential to post a competitive total against India on this ground.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Ibrahim Zadran (c), Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi, Najibullah Zadran, Karim Janat, Gulbadin Naib, Noor Ahmad, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mujeeb Ur Rahman

It is a belter of a pitch and a lot of runs are on offer here. There should be no trouble with the bounce or pace as the ball will come onto the bat quite nicely allowing for great timing. The weather will be mostly cloudy with a high of 28 degrees Celsius on the match day in Bengaluru.

Average TurnM. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will be the venue for the 3rd and final T20I of the series. It is a high-scoring ground with smaller boundaries and a lot of sixes can be expected in this game. It is not easy to assess what a match-winning score would be at this venue but 190+ runs is something that would be a competitive total and give the team a fighting chance to win the game.
Teams have always preferred chasing a total here in T20Is and even big scores like 200 or 210 have been chased down quite comfortably in IPL. With Kohli back in the side, Dube in great form, and two successful chases so far, India will be looking to bowl first here. Afghanistan too, after failing to post a good score in two games, should be looking for a change and bowl first.
Despite their skipper being dismissed for a duck in two consecutive matches, India, on the back of some great knocks from their younger players, have managed two successful run-chases. They even rested their regulars in the bowling department and yet have been exceptional. The hosts are far ahead of the visiting Afghanistan and we don’t see them losing this game. India will be the clear favorites to win this match in our prediction.
