After a contrasting start to the season, the Warriors and Lions come into the second round of CSA T20 Challenge 2024-25 matches looking for a positive result. The Warriors are just one point behind the Titans after a splendid and comfortable victory Dolphins. Meanwhile, the Lions have troubles across the board and a heavy 117-run defeat at the hands of Titans is likely to be a big wake-up call ahead of the second match in their new campaign.

Titans produced one of the best attacking potentials in the CSA T20 Challenge and the 258 runs managed in the innings against the Lions is likely to be the record for the campaign. Against the might of the Titans, the Lions did not have too many answers. However, there are plenty of noteworthy contributions to focus on.
Evan Jones helped the Lions put up a brave face in the results. For a team that witnessed the collapse of the first five batsmen for just seven runs, it was a breath of relief to witness Evan Jones and Delano Potgieter put together a solid partnership. The former was able to score 83 runs from just 48 balls in an innings that included six sixes.
The Lions bowlers were thrashed all over the park by the Titans. Only Kwena Maphaka was able to pick up two goals in the blowing needs. Kwena Maphaka had the best performance amongst bowlers but he could only manage an economy of 7.75. The rest of the bowlers were thrashed all over the park with Junaid Dawood being particularly poor after conceding 48 runs in the three overs.

Warriors had a strong start to the season after picking four points from the first game against the Dolphins. There were no signs of trouble from last season extending further. Last season, the Warriors were able to reach the semifinals. This time around, the Warriors have given themselves a very good start.
Jean du Plessis has started the season very after a half-century in the first match. The 69 runs from just 45 balls have put the Warriors in a very strong position to build on the opening-day victory. Jean du Plessis stayed to ensure that the Warriors had no hiccups in completing the chase and was also assisted by JP King, who came up with 41 runs from just 29 balls.
Christopher King had the biggest impact for the Warriors with the ball after returning figures of just 3/18 in his four overs. Even though Renaldo Meyer and Siya Plaatjie were able to pick up two wickets each, they thrashed around the park. The latter was especially overpowered with figures of 2/24 from just two overs.

The only match on this pitch so far this season has witnessed a total of almost 400 runs. Such was the staggering batting surface available on display in the game between the Titans and Lions. The average scores from the first and second innings of the last four matches on this ground happen to be 165 and 135 respectively. The weather in Johannesburg will be sunny with temperatures around 22°C.
The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg has already witnessed a humongous total of 258 posted by the Titans in the opening round of action. However, the majority of the action is likely to be focused in the space between 160 and 200 runs per inning.
The Lions chose to bowl first in the opening game. This has been the preferred choice in the last three games on the Johannesburg pitch with one of those matches ending in a victory. The preference is unlikely to change and the Warriors will be glad to bat first after chasing quite comfortably against the Dolphins in the first match.
The Warriors are coming on the back of an impressive performance that saw them a victory in the first match. The Lions do not have much of a chance against the impressive Titans, but they are likely to put up a fight in this game. Still, the Warriors have more quality in the batting line-up to get a win.
Our prediction is for Warriors to win
