Manipal Tigers Preview

Harbhajan Singh has led the Tigers to two consecutive victories in the Legends League Cricket 2023. They look like the most competitive side in this tournament at the moment with an in-form bowling attack.

Mitchell McClenaghan bounced back after a poor start in their first game. He delivered an economical spell while delivering a breakthrough. 

And while Parvinder Awana and Harbhajan Singh continued their bowling form, Imran Khan also ed the party with a 3-fer against Bhilwara Kings while defending 211 runs.

The batting lineup has depth and with Thisara Perera and Colin de Grandhomme in the middle-order, the Manipal Tigers look sorted. Opening batters Chadwick Walton and Robin Uthappa managed to convert their starts in the last match as they put on a massive opening partnership.

Not only are the top 3 batters in great touch, they also have some handy batters lower down the order with Angelo Perera and Mohammad Kaif. The big-hitting Kiwi, Corey Anderson hasn’t featured in the XI yet and we expect him to get a chance in this match.

Tigers pack a solid punch as far as the squad strength is concerned and with a few key players in great form, they should be confident of a hat-trick of wins.

Southern Super Stars Preview

Southern Super Stars are winless so far and will be eager to bounce back with a win here in Jammu. It will be a tough challenge as they go up against one of the best bowling attacks in the Legends League Cricket.

Ross Taylor and Co. failed to chase down a par score of 156 runs in the opening match against Urbanrisers Hyderabad. And in the next game, it would have been the same or even worse batting performance if not for the fifty from Chaturanga de Silva at number 5.

Ross Taylor failed to make an impact once again and so did the top-order. They were 4 down for 88 runs in the 13th Over and de Silva’s unbeaten 56 off 34 balls helped Southern Super Stars cross the 160-run mark.

There are some big issues in this batting lineup that Taylor needs to address. His form to begin with and the partnerships at the top. Aaron Finch and Jesse Ryder can be a great opening pair or Ryder could also open with Tharanga.

The openers followed by Taylor at number 4 have a big role to play in the Stars’ batting performance. Now C de Silva must have raised hopes and can be a match finisher for the side.

There are some big names in the bowling attack and if Stars were to bowl first, they could get their team on top.
