This game will bring the curtain down on Group B of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy and we already know that whatever the result, England will not be celebrating as they will be going home.
South Africa, on the other hand, could be celebrating winning the group but they will know exactly what is required to do so ahead of the match with Australia and Afghanistan going head to head 24 hours earlier.
England have been on a downward spiral in white ball cricket for many years and they look a shadow of their former selves who won the 2019 Cricket World Cup. They also have a poor record in Asia in this format!
South Africa, on the other hand, will be fresh after thrashing Afghanistan and seeing their game against Australia washed out due to poor weather.

There could be a change for South Africa ahead of this game with Heinrich Klaasen likely to be available again after a minor injury ruled him out of the opener against Afghanistan. Although Klaasen is usually a finisher in white ball cricket, his best route back into the team may well be as Tony de Zorzi's replacement at the top of the order.
That's because of the form of Ryan Rickelton, Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen and Aiden Markram. David Miller made only 14 runs from 18 balls but his place in the middle order is certainly secure.
With the ball, Kagiso Rabada has a fine record against England and is very consistent in this format. We also expect Marco Jansen to cause problems with his height and left-arm angle.
Markram remained unbeaten on 52* runs in 36 balls against Afghanistan at Karachi. He will be playing on the same surface today and will be well aware of how the conditions are. His form has also been good, where he has scored 196 runs in the last 5 ODI matches and is averaging 49.

After coming into the tournament talking a good game and telling anyone who would listen that they had a chance of winning the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, it has turned out to not be the case and England will be heading home immediately after this game.
England have performed well with the bat and have seen both Ben Duckett and Joe Root post centuries during the competition. But the likes of Phil Salt, Jamie Smith, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone have failed to make an impact so they will all be keen to sign off with a score.
The main problems have come with the ball where England's express pace attack has not delivered the required results. Mark Wood is set to miss this game through injury and we predict that Rehan Ahmed will come in to provide another spin option alongside Adil Rashid.
Root's incredible knock of 120 against Afghanistan couldn't save his team from a loss. The 34-year old batter is in sublime form and has notched up 188 runs in 2 matches (120 & 68). Root will look to play similar kind of role, where he plays throughout the innings and allow others to play at a fast pace. Considering how well he has batted in the tournament so far, we are rooting for Joe Root to score over 34 runs in today's match.
Duckett has scored 203 runs in the last two matches, the left hander is in prolific run-scoring form and he has been consistent and patient enough with his approach and has accumulated runs at will. Given his current form, we back Duckett to have another good outing against the Proteas and end his tournament on a high.

It is set to be another warm and sunny day in Karachi with the temperature up at 28 degrees for the majority of the game. Even after dark, humidity levels are unlikely to go above 50%.

Minimal TurnThis is a good batting wicket with both New Zealand and South Africa showing the value of batting first in this tournament. That said, we still expect some assistance for the pace bowlers during the powerplays.
The average total match score in the last three ODI matches played at the National Stadium in Karachi is 529 runs. Neither of the two Champions Trophy matches played there resulted in a total match score exceeding 582 runs. The recorded scores were 523 and 580. Based on this, we predict a moderately scoring game and expect the total match score to be under 583.
We back the luck to be in favour of South Africa and predict they will win the coin toss in match 11 of ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Both games here in Karachi during the ICC Champions Trophy have been won by the teams batting first so we predict that both sides will want to bat first again in this game.
With the depth in their batting line-up, not to mention their pace-bowlers, we expect South Africa to be too strong for England. No doubt Jos Buttler's side will try to be as aggressive as possible but we are predicting another defeat for England which may well spell the end of Buttler's tenure as skipper.
