The T20 Spring Challenge is an exciting new tournament for women's domestic T20 cricket, taking place in Sydney and Adelaide before the Weber WBBL 10 begins in October. This nine-team competition was established to maintain the number of women's domestic matches despite the WBBL's shortened format, including teams from the eight Big Bash clubs and the Australian Capital Territory Women. The third match of the tournament will see a clash between Sydney Sixers Women and Australian Capital Territory Women at the North Sydney Oval in Sydney.

Sydney Sixers Women will be without plenty of their first-choice players for most of the T20 Spring Challenge matches. The likes of Amelia Kerr, Ellyse Perry, Ashleigh Gardner, and Alyssa Healy will be busy with the T20 World Cup till late October.
The onus will hence be on the inexperienced players to rise to the challenge and establish themselves.
Kate Pelle and Mathilda Carmichael will look to provide the team with a brisk start. Erin Burns and Caoimhe Bray will play the crucial role of all-rounders in the team. Burns, particularly, is a terrific talent and worth backing. Bray is an exciting young fast-bowling all-rounder, who has been touted as the next big thing. So a lot will be expected from her.
Among the bowlers, Lauren Cheatle, Isabella Malgioglio, and Courtney Sippel are expected to be the main weapons for the Sixers.

Australian Capital Territory Women have a fairly new-look squad and will be looking to start on a winning note.
The talented Katie Mack will lead the side. She has been in good form as well this season. In the recent 50-over series against India A Women, she was the highest scorer for Australia Women, with 198 runs in 3 innings at an average of 66. She will clearly be the batter to watch out for.
The team also has plenty of exciting all-rounders who can change the game, such as Olivia Porter, Carly Leeson, and Amy Hunter.
Among the bowlers, the team will rely on Gabrielle Sutcliffe and Anesu Mushang to get the early breakthroughs. If these two don’t deliver, then the all-rounders will have to do the job.

The pitch at North Sydney Oval in Sydney is an ideal one for T20 cricket. It’s a superb batting surface but has something in it for the seamers throughout. There is enough bounce and movement off the pitch for seamers to extract. Spinners will also find help from the surface during the middle overs.
Rain is expected on the morning of the match in Sydney. Thus, the game might be affected for a bit, but we should still get a full match.
The average score batting first at the North Sydney Oval is 154. The highest total posted at the venue is a colossal 242-4 by Sydney Sixers Women versus Melbourne Stars Women back in 2017. The team batting first in this game will be looking to set a target of around 170 runs.
Batting first has been better at the North Sydney Oval, with 32 of the 53 domestic women’s T20 matches played here being won by the team batting first. Therefore, the team winning the toss is likely to bat first here.
Both Sydney Sixers Women and Australian Capital Territory Women are missing several key players from their squads for the start of this tournament. Hence, neither team will be at full strength in this clash. It will be interesting to see how the lesser-experienced players cope with the challenge. Looking at the squads, we reckon Sydney Sixers look a little more balanced. This is likely to be a closely contested match, but Sydney Sixers have a slight edge.
