Titans ended up ceding the top spot in the CSA T20 challenge 2024-25 season after losing the first game. A seven-wicket loss against Western Province comes as a big wake-up call for the team and they go up against Boland looking to get a hat-trick wins against this opponent. Boland have had a difficult start to the campaign and they will be fearing the worst ahead of the trip to Centurion Park. The Titans have had back-to-back successes over Boland, whose last victory in a full match against the Titans was in February 2022.

An unexpectedly poor batting performance against Western Province in the first match at the Centurion Park this season led to the Titans suffering a heavy defeat. The result has left the team second in the standings after being overtaken by North West. It is a big blow for the Titans, who had picked up victories from the first two games to lead the early stages of the CSA T20 Challenge 2024.
The game never really took off for the Titans with Lhuan-dre Pretorius emerging as the only saving grace in the top order after managing 23 runs from his 16 balls. After a middle-order collapse, Donovan Ferreira (the club’s top scorer of the season with 147 runs) was able to steady the lineup to a certain extent with the defendants from his 27 balls. This, however, proved to be insufficient with the team being restricted to a total of just 143.
This total was always going to be insufficient batting surface. The team’s leading wicket-taker of the season, Roelof van der Merwe (7), failed to get any against Western Province. Corbin Bosch improved on his first wicket against the Dolphins after managing two wickets against Western Province. Still, this was a mediocre bowling performance from the team.

Boland were able to put up a valiant fight against the North West and they came within a whisker of a victory. The team struggled with the ball against North West on a pitch that was brilliant for batsmen. However, it was with the bat that Boland were able to shine. The team are in the fifth place after the first three matches. They are still with the potential to overtake Western Province by the end of this match.
The team saw a strong top and middle-order performance, which was highlighted by Grant Roelofsen’s 63 runs from just 43 balls. Roelofsen’s fine performance with the bat has also pushed him as the fifth-best batsman in the league with 114 runs from his two innings. He has managed a half-century in both of his innings in the campaign. However, he has not been backed up by other players in the squad and it continues to rank as one of the major problems behind the drop in results for Boland.
Glenton Stuurman has been the leading bowler for Boland in the campaign but with only two wickets from a single match. Keith Dudgeon is also on par with two wickets from his two innings.

Centurion Park has just witnessed a first defeat for the Titans at the start of the season. After managing back-to-back successes on this ground towards the end of last season, the Titans will be relatively confident coming into the game. The pitch looks comfortable for a score of 150+, which has been the outcome in the out of the last five games. The weather in Centurion might threaten the game with scattered thunderstorms.
Centurion Park has witnessed a 140+ score from both innings of the first match on this pitch this season. After having scored 170 in the last match, Boland will feel confident about their batting line-up. This game is highly likely to produce a total of 250+ from both innings combined.
The Titans were unable to post a strong total despite being sent to bat first on a good surface at the Centurion Park. However, against a struggling bowling line-up of Boland, there should be enough in store for the opposition to choose to bat first.
Titans may have just picked up the first loss of the campaign, but a team of this magnitude should be able to bounce back. The batsmen continue to hold a lot of positives for Titans, while Boland also saw the batsmen return to form. This will be a very even contest with Titans getting a slender advantage.
Our prediction is for Titans to win
